School uniforms are one of the many issue of school administrations. Some schools required students to wear school uniforms even in public school. In fact, according to Paris, in Montreal, a public school required students to wear school uniforms, but only English people not French people. Despite this fact there are several disadvantages of school uniforms, for example it is very expensive, it violates the students’ right to express themselves, and eliminates their identity.
Many parents and students are complaining about school uniforms being expensive. A student, Paris, said, "It is very expensive like one t-shirt cost $50, and I think all in all it might go down to $400". Not to mention, it was a public school and she is buying uniforms every year. Public school is supposed to be costless. It is very unfair to parents who pay taxes for free education. School administration says that I can avoid violence. However, it is years since some school has school uniforms, yet violence is still there. It is still not statistically proven that it decrease violence.
