There exist numerous times that my spouse enquired whether I was listening to her and caught the previous thing she said; however, I was viewing something on the television or reading something is the news. Regardless, while there is a significant number that would consider themselves decent listener they ultimately practice selective listening. For instance, there are times that individual will look at their emails while listening to a colleague. There are other times when an individual will make-believe listening to a coworker; however, not truly engrossed in the conversation and others still only hear the information that will confirm their personal interpretation and overlook the rest.

There are countless different steps to take to improve your nonverbal skills with the most important happening to be to establish eye contact while communicating with others. When you generate direct eye contact with the individual you are conversing with, it reveals the other party you are interested.
