I think that students shouldn’t have homework. Students shouldn’t have homework because it puts too much stress on them. They are also already in school for seven hours a day. Lastly they don’t get the opportunity to have as much physical activity as they should. I think students shouldn’t have homework, because it puts to much stress on them. This has personally happened to me many times, the reason being extracurricular activities. Many students do extracurricular activities and most take place everyday and can take a couple of hours. After doing that you go home and are probably tired but can’t because you have 20 math problems that were assigned for homework, also you didn’t understand the lesson that day but if you don’t do it then you get lunch study. Students deserve their free time after that many hours of school and if the teachers give work then they also have to grade it so it makes everyone's life harder and less enjoyable. “Downtime replenishes the brain’s stores of attention and motivation, encourages productivity and creativity, and is essential to both achieve our highest levels of performance and simply form stable memories in everyday life.” Scientific American stated in an article, which provides evidence that after seven hours of work we could use some free time. The final reason students shouldn’t have homework is because they don’t get the opportunity to have as much physical activity as they should. During the winter months there is only about two hours of daylight to play outside in and if you have an hour of homework that leaves roughly only an hour to play and depending on the day you could have more homework.
