Leading You to a Healthy Lifestyle: Nurse Practitioners I have imagined myself in several different careers that have interested me as I've been growing up, from styling hair to being a fashion designer, and even a professional singer. Now, even though it is crazy to believe time has flown by so fast, I am at the age where I am deciding what I want to major in. Even though all of those professions I have listed above were very interesting, there was one job when I was growing up that I knew would be a stable and interesting profession: a nurse practitioner. I have always been interested in health sciences and seeing as though I'm familiar with a doctor’s office/hospital setting due to being born with a birth defect, I felt that nurse practitioner was the most suitable job for me. Nurse practitioner would be a good career choice for me because they are paid well, are in high demand, do many interesting things, and they can work in multiple different settings. Nurse practitioners essentially can do more than regular nurses, but they aren't quite advanced enough to be titled as a doctor. An overview of their job is to provide care to patients throughout their life Their job consist of several different tasks so it would never be the same thing everyday. Also, you wouldn't have to stay in one location as you could pursue this job in anywhere, in many different buildings, and go into any part of the medical study you please. Finally, getting the job and getting a steady income would never be an issue seeing as anywhere you will make an above average income and since they are in high demand and would never have a problem getting a job. After seeing my own personal nurse practitioner for many years, she has stated many times how much she loves her job and thought it was a great idea when I told her I was going to study to be one. I now know that it is a great idea for a career choice,
