Recommended: Introduction impact of extracurricular activities on students academic performance

Taking an education journey at a college can take you in many paths. The path you choose or a path you have never even thought of. From graduating high school I had a mindset of going into the business field. It has been about 13 weeks into my first p’’semester and I found myself changing my degree/certificate to elementary education. I have chosen this career because I have always had a passion to teach as well work hands on with others. I did some research and found elementary education to be in my best interest, which was great kids and I get along perfect. In the past I have had many of my teachers would recommend me to teach but I always had a mindset of sticking with the business field. I have had experienced many teachers just teaching to teach, and having a teacher not be passionate about their job also affects the learning of the kids. I am passionate to see them be successful in the future and I am excited to go into a field where I will be able to shape and impact there early education lives.

I have a goal, and to complete that goal I have long term and short term goals I must complete on my journey. Within semester I hope to volunteer on campus and off campus. I want to create a new developed resume. Also I want to become more active on campus and join a club/organization. I have been accepted into Catalyst which helps club goal. My long term goals are goals that will help me in my future as a teacher and a growing scholar. I want to intern at a school , but with the advice of Cari, I want to intern for about 6 weeks to learn more of the school day and hands on working with the kids. I want to complete each semester with a g.p.a of 3.4 or higher, and try my hardest until graduation day. My biggest goal I can say is become involved with a specific school to gain more experience and knowledge about becoming an elementary
