Generally, realistically, and universal, the characters in Macbeth could be characters in any story. The characters had very identifiable motivations and personalities. Generically, Macbeth contained roles such as the hero, the mentor, and the villain, although these roles might have been shared between characters, switched between characters, or a character might have possessed more than one. These character traits aren’t only generally used in numerous stories, but they can also be identified among people. People are able to read Macbeth and relate the character motivations to either themselves or to a familiar aspect of their life.
