For this assignment I chose the United Way. (http://www.unitedway.org) At first glance the things that stood out to me is how many major sponsorship they have on their web page. Although the United Way does not have some of the elements from the questions we are posed, they do have an extensive network reaching millions of donors and raising $86.1 million through their annual campaign. This giving reports is from 2013 and gives you an idea of the network they have in place to raise these kinds of funds. In Levinson, J. C., & Gibson, S. (2010) we read this week, we find that the ability to get your name in front of the world is a big deal. “Appeal to the whole world. Your name should actually help qualify the right prospects and repel those that don’t resonate …show more content…
I found their website very easy to navigate, anyone could take just a few moments and quickly decide if this is a good organization. It grabs your attention in the first three seconds and gives you a sense of belonging right off the bat. • Do they have a way to reply quickly to questions, criticisms, or other posts? The did not have a “live chat” feature, however, the information on their website is quite extensive. Most questions one might have is probably already on the site. • Do they invite feedback from people? They do not invite people in the element of feedback. However, they are very heavy in asking for donations and getting people involved. I would appear they are open to all kinds of backgrounds and open minded to differing points of view. • Do they thank their customers/donors? If they thank their customers or donors it is not visible on the website. I did not donate at this time; however, I would suspect that they do send a “thank you” letter via email after a donation is made. • Does their site invite 2-way communication? There website did not offer any live or two-way communication. They do have a blog that one could connect to and get updates
Many people have begun to question how they use the money they raise. About 81% of their funds are put towards their programs and services, while more reputable charities are usually

This is very important to have to get repeated gifts or donations for your organization. As a non-profit organization, you cannot afford to not have a program of gratitude. Promptness is key factor when it comes to donors, donors like promptness, send out that thank you letter. Sending out a thank you let the donor you received their gift. It lets the donor know the gift will be put to good use. Also, let the donor now they made the right decision and show that you are well-organized (Axelrad, 2014).
I had always heard people talk about people they knew with disabilities as “the sweetest people you will ever meet,” but that phrase meant nothing to me until I met this group. I honestly could never have imagined the impact that they would have on my life. The next time that I went back after my first session, I had participants say things like, “You came back! Hi!” or “Look, it’s Megan! Megan everybody!” As an introvert, it is sometimes difficult for me to approach new people and immediately build relationships with them. This group of people has absolutely no issues waving at strangers to making friends effortlessly. They made me feel appreciated and loved having only been with them for one session, and this feeling grows each time I
The meeting exceeded my expectations because it was much more productive than the previous meeting that I attended. As far as what questions remain for me, I would like to see what goes on during the closed meetings. How much influence does the sponsor has in the new member’s life. How long a member has to be sober to qualify to be a sponsor? In addition, I would like to know what happens if a member relapses? I am glad that I attended the Lifesavers meeting; it helped me realize that Alcoholic Anonymous is a helpful form of help for alcoholics.
They offer classes, events, and programs for local residents. Newcomers can pick up a guide, which is a calendar of events and activities in the area. The publication has multiple publications based on interests.
I will also contact the service providers which host these clubs and gain their opinion on the existence of these groups and find out

It is important to know how the Red Cross began. It was in June 1859 when Henry Dunant went to Solferino, north of Italy. He was a spectator of a small but bloody war. French and Italians had a battle against Austrians. There were more or less 40,000 victims. He was completely horrified with the scene. He interrupted his trip to help the hurt and organized volunteers to save lives.
United Airlines is one of the largest airlines in the United States and worldwide. Also, it is ranked as the oldest commercial airline that was founded by Walter Varney. United Airlines started as an Air Mail Service and then extended its services to be an Air Carrier. In 1927, William Boeing started his own airline, Boeing Air Transport, and started buying any other air mail companies, which included the Varney’s Air Mail Company. After a while, Boeing started manufacturing aircraft and parts, which allowed him to extend his company to a bigger organization. Also, within Boeing’s company, he bought several airports to expand his organization. In 1929, Boeing’s company has changed its name to be United Aircraft and Transport Corp. (UATC).
