When it comes to being influenced by many things the first three factors that comes to mind would be: Environment, Education, and expectations. Wes Moore, the author of the book “The Other Wes Moore” ,explores the aspects of the three factors and believes that they have a big part on how a child is influenced. Each factor have a part in a child’s life and it helps them to get where they want to be in life. Between the three factors, each and every one of them have an impact on me.
The Nurture vs. Nature has been a long standing debate amongst psychologists. This psychological controversy questions whether or not the environment has more or less to do with the outcome of a child’s psychological development than the genetics involved. The nurture side of the argument is highly illustrated by the memoir The Other Wes Moore, by Wes Moore, due to the fact that both of their lives although starting off similar, ended dramatically different.
Environment says a lot about identity, past, and future. Primary environment has the most effect on shaping a child. The biological theory refers to the focus of genetic factors that assist the child in adjusting to their environment. The theory highlights the importance of maturation of children’s bodies and their motor skills. The restriction of the biological theory however, is that it discounts the impact of children’s experiences. I believe that a child’s growth is developmental, and each child needs a secure caring and motivating atmosphere in which to grow and developed emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. I believe nature and nurture are the two aspects that influence in child development. Nature and nurture are different in several ways, but they both play an important role in child development. I believe that the environment that a person grows up in has the most influence on child development because children reflect what they are taught and what they learn from the people around them.
