The twenty first century is the era of the continuing development of new and better automation. “Technology is so much fun, but we can drown in our technology. The fog of information can drive out knowledge”. Those born in the nineties and early two-thousands are a part of the generation that “grew up on technology”. School work has come from writing with pencils and paper to typing on keyboards and monitors. Communication across the country began as letter writing that would take weeks to receive and has come to be as easy as sending a text message that the recipient will be able to receive in just a few seconds. While some use technology for good, there are some inimical people in this society that misuse technology to do and cause harm to others. Cyber bullying is one of the major world-wide causes of teenage suicide. More than thirty percent of teens have been the victim of cyber bullying in the forms of receiving hurtful messages, having rumors spread online, and/or posts containing threatening messages on social networking sites. The Bible warned that technology would have a major impact, good or bad someday - someday being today. Depending on how technology is used in an individual’s life, it can be very beneficial to them or the worst thing that has ever happened to the twenty-first century.
Every day, scientists invent new technological advances that help us, as “Average Joe” citizens, increase our knowledge. The internet, using websites such as Google and Bing, can teach children, teenagers, and even adults more than certified teachers would ever be able to just by typing in a simple question in the search bar. Technology is everything and extremely easy to get access; missionaries, as well as the average “run-of-the-mill” religious personnel, can spread the gospel faster and easier than ever before. Technology, when used in its most efficient form, can help society in a positive way. Using technology the way the characters in these novellas and novel did, can and will cause harm to people and the environment around them.
