A difficult decision has come about deciding whether to place an elderly person in a retirement home or housing with a family member. People argue that nursing homes are better when in fact it has been proven that some of the residents are not getting proper care or being put in danger. Recently it has been stated that after a while the number of elderly people are going to increase by the years. Therefore Elderly people should live with their family members due to nursing homes becoming more dangerous.
Elderly people should live with family members because not all nursing homes are fit for placing residents. Nursing homes are open 24 hours but they typically do not tend to patients as needed because of the number of residents (Micah). Most of the elderly that are housed in nursing homes should be looked after 24/7, and that is a responsibility that nursing homes lack. Some may argue that nursing homes contain professionals so they know what they are doing in terms of giving the proper amount of time to patients.
