Danny Elfman has scored and composed several movies, cartoons, and animated films throughout his career in the movie industry. However, on several of these movies he tends to collaborate with Tim Burton, a popular and unique producer and director. Two of these movies include The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) and The Corpse Bride (2005). The Nightmare Before Christmas is a movie about a skeleton protagonist named Jack who gets lost in a forest and accidently travels from his home Halloweentown to Christmasland. Some of the most common elements include vampires, zombies and werewolves. In both Japan and America, the film industry is a big industry. Part of that industry is the genre of horror. Movies like this include the themes of an evil entity usually killing people or causing havoc and the protagonists, which are represented as good. Many cultures have their own takes on horror movies. How they’re done and the themes that they believe are evil or that they’re scared of. Ultimately horror movies are dark and invoke fear. Japan and America are two good examples of how horror movies in different cultures can be different, similar and how they can influence each other.
In Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas a pivotal change in way animation is performed and viewed takes place. The film epitmozes the use of stop motion animation and created the standard of all stop motion from then and into the future. Nightmare Before Christmas is regarded as an iconic movie and is the basis of the stop motion, gothic animation, and the entire stylistic choices that are associated with Tim Burton.
The movie It was a good remake of the original movie that came out in 1990. When I saw the movie I thought it was good Film but I did think some parts of the movie was dumb. I did think the kids were good actors especially when they feared of pennywise and well that’s because while acting because they were scared. In the 2017 movie pennywise is a very scary clown, but you see there is a reason why pennywise is a clown. Pennywise is monster that takes the form of a clown to lure in children and it did that in the 90s. But in the 2017 version the clown is too scary to lure anyone in his traps. That’s why pennywise in the new version doesn’t work here. I do think the story is better than the original, but you do question some things.

In Frankenstein and The Bride of Frankenstein, sound is used as an effect to scare people and create a “spooky” feeling. They used the sounds of a storm with rain and thunder, the sound of footsteps coming up from behind people, and other noises like creaky stairs, floors, and doors. This created that “haunted” or “spooky” feeling that would be used over and over again in horror films for decades. When they used sound effects, it was to emphasize that something was either happening or about to happen.

The characters mentioned are all different but yet the same in purpose: trying to succeed. The main character of Frankenstein and Death of a Salesman seize similar qualities; wanting to succeed in life, have the same relationship with another key figure in the plot line, and possessing the qualities of a tragic hero.
Would you rather be horrified beyond repair or thrilled to the point of no return? In horror, the main purpose is to invoke fear and dread into the audience in the most unrealistic way. Horror movies involve supernatural entities such as ghosts, vampires, teleportation, and being completely immortal. As thriller films are grounded in realism and involve more suspense, mystery, and a sense of panic. Though both genres will frighten the audience, it will happen in two different ways. Whether the horror thrills or the thriller horrifies, a scare is always incorporated.
The Polanski film Death and the Maiden is a wonderful and intelligent interpretation of Ariel Dorfman’s human rights problem play. Polanski has produced, in this film, an exceptional piece of direction, in which his own personal, emotional input is evident. The main theme of the play is an extremely personal one for both playwright (and scriptwriter) and director. Both Dorfman and Polanski have had to face and flee the horrors of dictatorship and human rights violations: Dorfman in Chile, under General Augusto Pinochet, and Polanski in Poland under the Nazis. But despite this similarity in past experience, significant differences exist between the original play and the film. Apart from the specific techniques of lighting and composition, whose possibilities are greatly widened in the medium of film, we see differences in both the different emphases and implied viewpoints on the various themes that the play touches on and, perhaps more importantly, the way the characters are portrayed.
In society today, there are thousands of genres in the world that can be used in a plethora of ways. Probably the most common and most popular genres in this current generation are horror and comedy. These genres are found at the opposite end of the spectrum but it is not rare to see them side by side in movie theaters or even some libraries. Horror and comedy are known for their fictitious storylines along with some semblance of a lesson to be learned. Although in most cases lessons that are taught in horror films or novels are more likely to stick then in a comedy situation.
