Fast food can be defined as any food or drinks that have no or little nutrient value to the diet. Junk food and soft drinks are familiar to local communities, especially teenagers and children. Every day the media advertise various types of junk foods and soft drinks like fried chicken, soda, coke, burgers, hot dogs, instant noodles and pizza. These foods and drink are easily available, tasty and reasonably priced. Therefore, fast food is very popular and successful in changing tastes of our society. It is also linked with modernization and encompasses the whole way of life including nutrition and taste, and is said to conform to the modern era that emphasizes time. However, in terms of health, fast foods actually give many negative effects that should be give attention by the society. The obesity epidemic one of the serious issues also can be handled. The society could also reduce calories and follow the diet as shown in food pyramid to maintain their health. Besides, higher tax on soft drink and junk food can give many positive impacts on various aspects such as improving the health of individuals and the economy of a country. As we know,junk food is unhealthy but people eat junk food because it’s tasty,cheap and easily to get.. However, by increasing tax imposed on junk food, it’s become tasty but expensive and unhealthy.
