Are humans, even aware that they do it? Thoughtless tossing, that, rarely (if ever) gets thought twice about. Why would humans notice anyway? Tossing food out it just another normal part of life, similar to breathing, hearts beating or blinking-little effort is required. The truth of the matter, however, is that wasted food is a staggering worldwide production hiccup resulting in a squander of energy, water and money.
In opening, wasted food is a misuse of energy. Since fast-food opened in 1921, unthrifty food production has increased dramatically. To clarify, fast food uses energy to cook their burgers, fries, other as well as run other machinery in the store-the problem is, is that people don't always eat the food so the energy is wasted …show more content…

This is a fact that once it rolls around in the head for a few moments, becomes painfully obvious. To bring this into light: people spend thousands of dollars buying fast food and food from grocery stores only for it to sit on a plate or counter and cry out sadly as it's tossed into the garbage cans later, unused and singing sad songs (not realistically, if food is singing there is something deeply wrong with it). "Tossing out food is clearly a waste of money - and maybe even immoral, according to Pope Francis, who on Wednesday likened food waste to "stealing from the table of those who are poor and hungry."" (Barclay). Wasting food is like taking a wad of thousands of dollars of cash and standing on top of the edge of a volcano tossing the money down waving happily as it burns.
To summarize: Although obviously not the world's most devastating or pressing issue, it is a problem. People waste money, water, and energy on cooking all this garbage. That's what it turns into wasted food isn't something people can kick up their feet and relax about declaring it to be someone else's problem. It is a problem now. Even if the effect isn't extremely overpowering for now, it will, one day, be looked back on and the realization of just how devastating this waste is will hit with the raging force of a category five
