The Joy of Learning
According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, (to) learn is defined as “to gain knowledge, understanding or skill by study or exposure.” However, this is just a definition and does not give the true meaning of the word. It can not describe the true joy of finally learning and understanding something that has proven difficult. I believe that feeling can be facilitated with a teacher who understand those emotions. I have known teachers who truly portray their love for the art of teaching through their awareness of those special emotions and by allowing those emotions to work for them.

Learning is important for countless reasons, the most important reason being that it molds a person into who he or she is. What people choose to learn, and also what they choose not to, create the core of their opinions as individuals. Though people do not admit it or openly declare it, it is fair to say almost everyone is self centered. Because of this, and the fact that learning dramatically affects a person, learning is not only thrilling, but also expressive. Furthermore, since learning is expressive, its meaning varies from person to person, therefore making each person’s experiences with learning unique and life changing.
Every other country in the world that is on the same level as America industrially and developmentally offers universal health care to its citizens. Some Americans are worried about the rise in taxes if the government offers guaranteed care to everyone. The insurance companies will suffer, as well. But the sacrifice is more than worth it.
College education has always been seen as a gateway to making more money and living a better life. Going to college was seen as the next step that any ambitious American must take in order to make something of themselves and make their parents proud. Teachers fill their student’s heads with propaganda by telling them the only way to achieve their goal is through a proper education and with that, there is nothing they cannot do; however that is no longer the case. College takes years of diligent work and sacrifice to complete and in many cases result in the graduate being unemployed. Many people cannot handle the stress that comes with attending college and end up giving up on their dream. With the declining economy, it has become hard for students who did manage to graduate to get a job or to even afford an education. While getting a proper education is important in order to get a good job or a career, going to college is no longer the best option. Americans should no longer go to college since it has a high cost for attending, with no guaranteed rewards and there are better options available.
I believe that teaching and learning is both a science and an art, which requires the implementation of already determined rules. I see learning as the result of internal forces within the person student. I know that children differ in the way they learn and grow but I also know that all children can learn. Students’ increased understanding of their own experience is a legitimate form of knowledge. I will present my students with opportunities to develop the ability to meet personal knowledge.

There are two causes of ocean currents: wind and convection. The more important of the two is convection. The act of convection in a fluid is the tendency of a heated part of the fluid to rise up due to the fact the it is less dense and it is replaced by cooler fluid which is then heated, rises up, and again replaced by cooler fluid. There has been plenty of recent research on the topic of ocean currents and convection, some of which might change the way we view the ocean. In this paper I will explain exactly what convection is, I will explain how and why it makes such a drastic effect in our ocean, and I will discuss the latest research that has been done on ocean currents.
The currents at the surface of the ocean are split in to two categories, tidal currents and surface currents. Tidal currents occur around land masses and are influenced mainly by the gravitational pull of our sun and moon. They change rapidly but predictably and contribute to surface currents. Surface currents occur over different areas of earth’s ocean. Two main factors affecting the surface currents are wind and the Coriolis Effect. The Coriolis Effect explains how the rotation of the earth seems to cause a deflection of anything moving above the earth’s surface. It is this effect that causes winds and water in the northern hemisphere to appear to deflect to the right and in the southern hemisphere to deflect to the left. This being my first year of teaching I feel there are so many things that I have learned, and have helped me too become a good teacher. Yet I have so much more to learn, I still believe that students have the ability to learn and as a teacher it is my job to find ways to help them to become the best person they can be. Through being a reflective teacher, using professionalism, respecting diversity and having collaboration and community connecting this can be accomplished. When I am having fun teaching the student will have learning that material, this will help them to be relaxed and engaged in that lesson. I feel it is important to connect what they are learning to things that they have experienced in the real-world.
When I think about what counts as learning to me, I think about my life. Just being able to live in this world to me is a learning experience, because I feel that my life is full of lessons and I believe that it takes lessons to learn in life. I feel that I have learned to understand learning more and to also understand the value of learning. As I get older I can comprehend subject matters more than I could ever do before. I am learning to be more serious and I find myself not taking life for granted anymore.
Learning initially begins with one's attitude toward themselves, others, and the world we live in. It is our attitudes that play a major role in shaping our experiences, which in turn affects the way in which we learn. We must first be able to interpret the world using information we already know, in order to understand something entirely new.
