Nobody really likes moving. At least I know, I don 't. Moving to another place you have no idea about is tough. When I was 14, my father petitioned my family to move to the United States. Upon hearing that news from my mother, I was devastated. Devastated that I have to leave the place that I grew up, leaving all my friends and family. I have to travel 10,000 miles across the glove to live in a place I have never been to. I have very little idea about United States before moving, I have only seen this place through screen, watched movies such as "High School Musical." From what I have heard and seen life seemed so much easier and happier in the US, but once I stepped out of the plane, I knew it would not be even close to what I have pictured in my mind. My dad always says that "America is the land of opportunities" and I will have a "better future in America" compare to a third world country where I grew up. America is definitely different than the Philippines, clean environment, organized roads, . Language has been one of my biggest barrier to communicate. At first, I was convinced that I know how to speak English because I learned it in school back in the Philippines. Looking back four years ago, I would never imagine myself being in the place where I am today. As years passed by, I became a typical American kid. I have a part time job, going to high school, hanging out with friends. America has truly changed my whole well being. I communicate, made friends, and learned. I can certainly say that I found my new home. I am glad that we moved but I will always miss my family and friends in the Philippines. If we had not moved here, I would have missed out on all of the experiences that I have had and all the friends that I have
