Gun Control
America a great country that defended themselves with guns against the power of Great Britain. After the war with Britain, America got their independence and defended their country with the help of guns. Guns should be for all the people that are responsible and have a clean criminal record. Now people in America use guns to defend their property, family and useful in case of an emergency and use it as self defense. Guns should be allowed to make America a safer place to defend your property from burglars. This article is about a grandson that was protecting his grandma with a gun that she had. In the article “Grandson defends his grandmother from burglars” by Krey Patrick he wrote “The young boy ran and grabbed a loaded pistol he knew his grandmother kept in the house for protection”. If it wasn't for the gun that the grandma had the

This shows how guns make America safer and can protect your family from burglars. The author also says “The grandson fired three shots at the intruders, who later identified as 18-year-old Isai Delcid and 22-year-old. Isai was fatally wounded”. It was good that the grandson knew where the gun was because if he didn't they would not be alive to tell the story. It was brave that the 14 year old grandson was there to protect his grandma and was able to use the gun properly as self defense. There are also people who oppose to have guns and will rather not support having a gun in their home. In the article “Again” by Shaminder Dulai the author wrote “Students, staff and faculty, on October 1 after a shooting left nine dead and nine injured. The shooter, Chris Harper-Mercer,
The founding fathers stated in the constitution that individuals are allowed to possess firearms. Ownership of firearms is essential for the general population. It is much better to own a gun and not ever need to use it than to be in a life or death situation in which a gun could save your life, but not have access to one. Home burglaries are a real occurrence and a firearm can ensure that you and your family aren’t harmed. If there was ever a larger terrorist attack, gun owners would be more appreciated. Those in favor of gun control would realize that firearms aren’t so bad after all. Also, the government should not have to regulate how many guns a person can own. There are many gun enthusiasts who enjoy weapons and collect them living in the United States. America is a free country and that is what makes it so great. If an individual wants to own a crazy amount of guns, he should be able to as long as the law is not being broken and no one is being harmed. Just as other citizens are allowed to have extensive collections of random things, gun owners should be allowed to do the same. Firearms help prevent freedom and liberty from being taken away from the American
He demonstrates when guns are found in every household, gun control can do little to restrict access to guns from potential criminals. (McMahan, 3) So, McMahan’s main premises comes into play, either everyone has guns, including criminals, or nobody has guns. “Gun advocates prefer for both rather than neither to have them” McMahan remarks, but ultimately that will just leave the country open to more violence and tragedies. “As more private individuals acquire guns, the power of the police declines, personal security becomes a matter of self help, and the unarmed have an incentive to get guns.” (McMahan, 2) Now everyone is armed, and everyone has the ability to kill anyone in an instant, making everyone less secure. Just as all the states would be safer if nobody were to possess the nuclear weapons, our country would be safer if guns were banned from private individuals and criminals.
The United States is the last country on the planet to have the free and almost unrestricted use of firearms. We as citizens cannot just sit by and let our rights be stripped away. Through the use of better educating citizens, focusing on the person, not the tool, and explains the benefits of firearms, we see why guns are such an important and integral part of American life.
Take a look at the history of our country and the role guns have played in it. According to the second amendment gun ownership is perfectly legal and guaranteed as a right. There were and are good reasons for this, luckily they are still practiced today. Back in the day guns used to be for hunting and, on the occasion self defense. But when the colonists of this country had enough of British rule, they picked up there own personal guns and went to war and the British saw first hand how powerful the rough band of average American gun owners were. Our forefathers knew that the general population if armed would be key in winning the war. And it was.
Today in the United States many people argue over the fact of guns being legal or illegal. There are people using guns for personal safety and there are others who use them for crimes, as well as for other situations. Firearm deaths in the United States have slowly been decreasing from year to year with all these bills getting passed to promote a safer country than ever before. Guns are the main weapon for youth suicide, school shootings, and for committing murder. In 2010 there were 2,711 infants, child, and teenage firearm deaths. As in school shootings and in committing murder, studies show shooters often had multiple, non-automatic guns, shootings were planned, most youth tell before shooting, shooters have a history of being bullied or threatened, shooters have mental issues, and shooters have done suicidal gestures before (Gun Control with School Shootings). Although there are people who use guns for murdering, there are also those who oppose guns being used without the proper requirements. 85% of all respondents to the survey supporting requiring states to report people to national background-checks systems who are prohibited from owning gu...
Our country was founded on the basis of guns. The wars were won with guns and the people were protected by guns. Guns were so important that they were placed in the Bill of Rights of the United States Constitution:
“The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to allow the subjected people to
The right to own a gun has evolved over the years. Owning a gun is not just about possessing it, it’s about knowing you can protect yourself. Every person has the right to protect themselves and feel safe, t...
Imagine receiving the news that a loved one or someone you care about has had a tragic or a unfortunate accident as a result of a gun; this can happen to anyone in the reach of a weapon. Misuse of Guns in America is an irresponsibility of people misusing and abusing the authority of a gun. Americans in the U.S buy and obtain guns all the time. Of course, there are background checks done for the people purchasing them, but who knows what that person will do with a weapon this present day, and that does not mean the will be the only one who uses it. The rate of guns being misused by irresponsible people in America is not safe for U.S citizens.
There are gun control laws to try and reduce the number of violent shootings that occur. They are trying to put limits on weapons that Americans can own. The government is trying to take our guns away mainly because of people that are criminally insane. Most of the people who commit crimes don’t even have the weapons legally. If the government takes away the rights of people who are allowed to have firearms in their possession, it will most definitely cause an outrage. Most people believe that the people should be more capable of maintain proper use of the firearms instead of having them all taken away. Taking the firearms from Americans away would cause a lot more problems than there actually are. The people will be upset with the government taking firearms away because of the horrible people who harm innocent people using them. So they will do anything to their capabilities to keep them.
Gun control is one of the most debatable topics today. Thirty-three million Americans own firearms for hunting (Aitkens 9). But hunting is not the sole reason for which many individuals buy firearms. Of all countries, the United States is the one which is troubled most by a large number of criminals who are in possession of guns. The U.S. has the highest firearm murder rate of any democracy in the world (Aitkens 5). Where is the country going wrong as far as gun control is concerned? An immense number of laws have been created by the legislature. All were made in order to be sure guns remain in control of the right hands, yet the problems seem to prevail. All three branches of government (judicial, legislative, and executive) are involved in desperate attempts to improve the situation. Getting rid of guns would not work; it would be an impossible task. But, if pressure was applied to all aspects of gun employment - production, ownership, and most importantly dealership - a majority of problems could be controlled.
Over the past few decades gun control has come to the fore front of debate in politics and the mass media. It's no wonder that in the wake of the recent school shootings and attacks on churches that people are beginning to fear guns. People are beginning to see guns as an object of death and destruction and not as what they are meant to be. While guns are used in war they are not intended to kill innocent people, guns are intended to be used by experienced gun handlers for protection and hunting. When used properly a gun is no more dangerous than a car or a knife, all of these can be used in crime but none of them are intended to be.
Guns have been the weapon of choice for some of the most brutal massacres on America soil. Since early history guns have been used mainly for militia and defense purposes. But, the development of new gun technology has made firearms more accessible and deadly. Although the second amendment gives the right to bear arms, guns should be controlled and monitored by the government because guns have contributed to a lot of killings in America and will increase crime rates.
The United States today can be a scary place. Someone that is disgruntled, has a mental health issue, radicalized through terrorist propaganda or for any other reason can take up a firearm and mass murder innocent people. It can happen anywhere, anytime, anyplace. Anyone that pays attention to any news or newspapers has probably heard something about gun control. It’s a hot topic in this country and around the world. There are a lot of problems with gun control and regulating guns in the United States. Before you can talk about solutions you need to isolate the problems keeping the solutions from being realized. The people who are for and against guns do have common solutions but there is strong opposition
America is a freedom country that has people from all over the world have come and lived. In America, the safety of people is the most important concern of government, and Americans are encouraged to be able to protect themselves from dangerous situations. As a result of that, Americans have right to possess guns so that they can protect themselves from dangerous situations. However, besides the reason that people with guns can protect themselves from dangerous situations, researches have showed that more than 30,000 people are killed every year and more than 30 people are murdered everyday by guns in America. Although there are many people think that it is necessary to own gun, there are a lot of benefits when guns are restricted to own except police and security. The three main benefits are reducing homicides, reducing the ability of suicide, and reducing deaths from gun related crimes.
