Every food that people eat has molecules just like one of your favorite foods like pizza which has molecules. Trees, plants, animals and even humans have molecules. There is more than one type of atoms that you know of. There are four types of atoms are Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen and Nitrogen. An easier way to say all the atoms in one word is CHON which stands for Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen and Nitrogen. The first molecule is Carbohydrates. The elements that are in carbohydrates is C, H and O. Carbohydrates has building blocks of sugars or also known as saccharides. How Carbohydrates work is they fast fuel for cells. Carbohydrates are an important factor of life because they provide an important source of energy. How a Carbohydrate molecule is made is of carbon atoms. A single sugar molecule for carbohydrate is Monosaccharide. Monosaccharide is glucose, fructose and galactose. The second one is Disaccharide and it has maltose, sucrose and lactose. The last one is …show more content…

The elements of Lipids is C, H and O What lipids are, it is a group of molecules that include fats, oils, waxes and steroids. Lipids have a building block of fatty acids. How Lipids function is they store energy. Lipids include a high variable of molecules that include fats and oils. Important functions of lipids include insulations of heat, storing energy so that people don’t get tired and protection and also cellular communication. What lipids do for us is it stores energy for our bodies. Lipids are everywhere. Not all foods but some foods that have lipids are whole milk, sour cream, and ice cream. In a food test if you were to take a lipid test to see if a specific type of food have lipids then the type food that you tested has a chance to have lipids in them because they either have fats or oils and or both fats and oils. A food that does contain lipids is whole milk. Whole milk has fats and oils in them because the milk is 4% fat and there is some oil in the
