The Great Pyramids

Many people may ask what are the Great Pyramids and why are they around. They are simply large stones weighing tons that make a triangle. Also they are thought to be a tomb for the pharaoh when he passed away. They people thought the pyramids would help the pharaoh cross over to the next life. (Putnam 28)
These pyramids are located in Egypt. They were built between 3100 and 2686 years B.C. The people were also sailors so they were smarter than a lot of people give them credit for. They have been standing for ages even through the many sand storms. So when they were built they were built right. (Kallen 12)
The main reason why the pyramids go with the culture is because the pharaoh. He forced them to build the pyramids. After they were built people just left them to stand. It is said that the pharaoh had them built for the purpose of him gaining the after life. Like most people he wanted to live forever so he had the slaves build them for him. He wasn’t the only one though that is said to have a tomb in the pyramids There is a king’s chamber, grand gallery, queen’s chamber, and an escape shaft for the workers that placed the granite plugs. He wasn’t being selfish at the time like most people might think. If anything he was trying to help himself and the people around gain eternal life. He thought it was a straight way to the sun god Osiris. (Putnam 23)
He couldn’t be buried the treasures that helped him pass over to the next life. Gold and rubies were very important to the rituals that the people had to go through to help them pass over to the next life. On the gold pictures of the gods were on it. ...ieroglyphs also were thought to be some sort of magic that could make sure that whatever was carved was for sure going to happen. They thought that the pharaoh had to be mean to the gods so he could enter into heaven. In order to do that though they thought he had to get on the boat that he was put to rest in the previous life. This boat was directed by he that looks behind him self.
