There have been attempts to prove or provide the knowledge that aliens built the pyramids. However, recent research supports the theory that the Pyramids were built by the Egyptians and also refute the possibility that the aliens built the Pyramids. The pyramids of Egypt are fascinating, however, they remain to be a mystery. The well-built architecture is located in Giza, Egypt, on the west bank of the Nile River is the only survivor out of all seven ancient wonders. The pyramid still amazes thousands of scientists and guest's each year. It is also one of the most important aspect of the Egyptian culture that Egyptians are proud of. In this paper, I am going to address three arguments in support the theory that says the pyramids were built …show more content…
The largest pyramid, built for the Pharaoh Khufu around 2530 B.C. and intended to last an eternity, was until early in the twentieth century the biggest building on the planet. They are believed to have been built over a 20 year span. During the last 4,500 years, the pyramids have drawn every kind of admiration and interest, ranging in ancient times from religious worship to grave robbery, and, in the modern era, from New-Age claims for healing "pyramid power" to pseudoscientific searches by "fantastic archaeologists" seeking hidden chambers or signs of alien visitations to Earth (Shaw, 2003). Each giant Stone ranges from 1 to 20 tons in weight, and the Great Pyramid consisted of well over 100,000 stones (Mayes, 2004).To raise it, laborers moved into position six and a half million tons of stone. Some of them are in blocks as large as nine tons, with nothing but wood and rope (Shaw, …show more content…
However, many disagree with the claim that there is not enough evidence to support the Egyptians being the builders of the pyramids and there are too much evidence to refute it. Alexander, an Egyptologists said those traditional ideas of the builders or the pyramids hasn’t been supported and are not facts (Alexander, 2010). He also argued that there were not any dead king inside those pyramids. Moreover, Dr. Ron Charles, a civil engineer and an archaeologist, discussed that there was and is still no proof that the pyramids were built to be burial tombs or sites for the pharaohs (Merrill, 2012). Dr. Mark Lehner, a professor of Egyptian Archaeology, says that there is graffiti on the ceiling of Khufu’s tomb which provides evidence of their purpose but which was not recorded until 1837 (Lehner,2006).
Zechariah Sitchin takes this a step further with his assertion that the graffiti was a forgery done in May of 1837 and that he received a letter from a man whose grandfather witnessed another man painting hieroglyphics on the walls. Also, he claims that he found a typo after close investigation. The hieroglyphics call the pharaoh “Khufu,” which would be like “taking the name of God in vain” and would never have happened. Therefore, they are most certainly forged. However, as stated
There are many perspectives in regard to the Bosnian Pyramids, some in favor of the discovery and others in disbelief. From Fagan’s perspective the Bosnian Pyramids would be the perfect example of pseudoarchaeology. There is not much context used to explain the pyramids, there are no other artifacts and no human trace which would make it difficult to create a valid hypothesis in regards to the pyramids. The archaeologist of the Bosnian Pyramids, Semir Osmanagic, specifically demonstrate...
Constructed during Egypt's 4th Dynasty, The Pyramids of Giza are truly an astonishing work of architecture. These pyramids display several of the characteristics, that are now known, to be attributed to the Ancient Egyptian era. Years of research show that much of the ancient Egyptian's focus in their artistry, was that of a religious nature, regardless of medium. Artists of the time, focused their efforts on depicting the various Gods and Goddesses, immortality and the afterlife, and the glorification of the pharaohs. (MindEdge) One of the best examples of this are the pyramids. Each pyramid was built to be the final resting place of a pharaoh (Khufu, Khafre, or Menkaure) upon his death, and subsequent mummification. They were built on the
Has it ever crossed your mind that the oldest and only surviving of the Seven Wonders of the World was built in times that predated any modern technology? Doesn't it seem almost impossible? There are three Pyramids of Giza, the first one was commissioned in Ancient Egypt by the Pharaoh Khufu, around the year 2540 BCE. They are located in Giza, Egypt, and take on this name. Standing 488 ft tall, they were once the tallest buildings in the world, for many hundreds of years. The site is one of the most famous worldwide, receiving millions of tourists each year. The Pyramid of Giza is extremely significant because of its enormous scale and the many people needed to construct it, along with the methods used to do so.
The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World demonstrate individuals’ incredible creativity and imagination. God, of course, is responsible for these creations as He is the one who blessed mankind with such imagination and creativity. Some of these amazing pieces of history include the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the Statue of Zeus at Olympia, and the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus. The complex architectural feats that each wonder displays are truly remarkable. However, six of these wonders have unfortunately been destroyed. The only structure that remains is the Great Pyramid of Giza. When observing this great ancient wonder, it is interesting to consider its general facts, theories of construction, and strategies of preservation.
A pyramid is an Egyptian structure and are as old as 40,000 years old. A pyramids base can either be triangular or square this affects how many sides the pyramid has. These structures were usually made out of huge limestone blocks. The Egyptian pyramids were built using ramps which spiraled around the pyramid. The average limestone block weighed around 2.5 tons.( The great pyramids and more, 2013)
The Pyramids Of Giza were chosen as they are three extraordinary structures that give a rich insight into the context, culture, function, technology, power and experiential aspects of the time period and the buildings themselves. The three pyramids showcase the Egyptian’s advanced construction and design methods, their religious beliefs and practices, their rich and diverse culture, the power of the king, as well as the context that surrounded these magnificent structures.
When the Great Pyramids at Giza were built, the Egyptians had not invented the wheel yet, but the limestone blocks that they grudgingly transported, in an effort to build pyramids, weighed about 2 tons each. If all of the stone from the pyramids was cut into one foot, square blocks, it would extend two thirds of the way around the earth. No human life forms could have possibly erected these structures using that much limestone, because they did not have the technology to work in such scale. Only aliens, with more advanced mechanical and mental abilities, could have designed and ...
A few pyramids still stand today, and are great attractions for tourists. The pyramids were built by taking blocks of granite to the workshop, measuring the blocks down to size, shaping the blocks, and placing the blocks into the body of the pyramid. The core of the structure is now completed. Then, you place the limestone blocks on the top of the structure (they started putting the blocks on top and then worked their way down). They left two empty rooms to place the pharaoh and his belongings in. They sealed the pyramids so well, it took four hundred years for two robbers to figure out how to get in. Free citizens, drafted for public work, not by slaves of any sort, built the pyramids. Four thousand expert stone sculptors built the pyramids all year round. An extra work group of about ninety-five thousand men worked on the pyramids during the four-month period of the inundation (the time of enforced idleness for farmers, since the field were covered with the Nile water flood). The pyramids were built between the year 1600 B.C. and the year 2700.
The Nubians were an ancient civilizations of peoples who lived in the Nile region, neighboring the Egyptians. Ancient Nubia was located in what is modern Sudan. The Nubians continued to build their Pyramids five-hundred years after the Egyptians had built their last ones. There are around two-hundred and fifty five Pyramids at three separate sites in Nubia. The constructions were built over a period of a few hundred years. Just like the Egyptian pyramids, the Nubian versions are the tombs of countless kings and queens of Napata and Meroe. There are over twice the number of Nubian Pyramids compared to the Egyptian sites.
Some theorists that aliens have been around since the early civilizations were formed. These theorists have studied the history of early civilizations and have said to find historical and religious texts filled with ancient alien connections. Theorists have been said to be able to decipher ancient painting of aliens and their spaceships. According to the History Channel’s Ancient Aliens “Swiss author Erik Von Daniken put forth a hypothesis that, thousands of years ago, space travelers from other planets visited Earth, where they taught humans about technology and ancient religions.”(The History Channel). The pyramids of Egypt are so complex to build at the time with limited technology, that these theorists believe that the ancient aliens came down and helped the Egy...
Egypt has the biggest geographic landform as well as the largest river in the world called the Nile. It stretches 4100 miles throughout eastern Africa, flowing from south to north entering the Mediterranean Sea. To ancient Egyptians, the Nile was both a blessing and a curse. It was a blessing because it was the most fertile region on earth. The importance of the Nile flooding each year is that it results into fertile farmland, where it fertilizes the soil making it very good source for growing plants. It also is used for bathing, cleaning, and drinking. In addition, one of the easiest and luckiest ways to trade was by this river. Trade and transportation for it was very crucial. As said earlier, the Nile travels with the currents up to the north where it was easy from them to be transported. However, if they went from North to South, they would be against the currents which could be taken as one of the reason it being cursed. It is why they call it a
When one travels to Egypt, what does he/she see - pyramid after temple after tomb, each standing the test of time. One stands out - they are all associated with religious beliefs, they all have stood unmoving for thousands of years, and they all involve mechanical genius- the moving of colossal stones without the use of the wheel. The finest example such mechanics is shown in the construction of the revered pyramid. These three factors, all belonging to the religious architecture of ancient Egypt, do nothing else but prove its greatness.
The construction of the Great Pyramid is still a mystery and marvel to this day, there are seven major feats that archeologists still don’t understand.
The Great pyramids of Egypt are undoubtedly one of the most recognized and admired landmarks in the world. Built to pay tribute to gods and pharaohs, the pyramids were of great importance to the Egyptians, and the mystery of their construction continues to amaze us today. Many theories pertaining to how the pyramids were built have been suggested, however, none are as well supported or intelligible as the heave-ho method of quarrying and cutting limestone. Joseph Davidovits’ theory disproving this, in which states the pyramids were moulded, is not plausible. Substantial physical evidence which is consistent with the Egyptologists’ portrayal of the heave-ho method has been found. The entire process of building a pyramid with this method is possible, as demonstrated by thorough experiments and analysis of the Egyptian culture. Indisputably, the Great Pyramids of Giza were constructed by quarrying limestone, and the use of ramps, sleds, and cutting tools, owing to the ingenuity and strength of highly organized Egyptian workers.
Of all the pyramids of Egypt, the first three are held in the highest regards. This is known as the Great Pyramid. It was built for the Pharaoh Khufu. The Great Pyramid is about 450 feet tall and covers about 13 acres. The subject of this pyramid was to honor the pharaoh and show him some respect. It took about 100,000 workers and 20 years to build the pyramid.
