From the past two centuries, sugar has corrupted human bodies all over the world. The majority of the foods that we eat today have sugar in them, which could cause metabolic syndrome. The effect for metabolic syndrome to a human body are diabetes, health problems such as obesity in the system which makes a human intake more food then he or she supposed to and also could cause dental health such as the teeth. The effects that diabetes has on the body are bad circulation through the body which could lead to death, high blood pressure, heart disease and if I am not mistaken cancer. The people that are making a living of off are up to 48% of Americans that have survived from drinking soda. People that drink soda everyday on average based has a very high percentage of getting diabetes only in that week. To stop this madness people will have to give up drinking soda but because Coca-Cola and Pepsi are very high named brands, people will never stop unless the cost of the soda goes up in a ridiculous price, then people will realize what they were drinking. I say it’s a great idea if they taxed soda because of what it’s done to this country only. America is considered the laziest and has the fattest people here. I cannot disagree with that kind of statement because by looking at other countries such as china people are very thin but they have one of the healthiest bodies to do anything. By doing my research on soda companies on how much they spend every year on advertising which they won’t say because it’s a worldwide named brand but overall what Coca-Cola spends up to 2.1 billion dollars and every year it increases by 100 million dollars. The way taxes affects consumption is increasing what every is advertised, such as soda for example people drink tons of it on a daily bases but if soda got taxed then increased, people would want to buy that product and lower the chances of anybody buying soda from that company/brand. For example look at organic food, healthiest thing for your body but it’s so expensive which people will take the easy way out and buy sugary snacks and soda because it’s cheaper. I will agree with cutting down the big sodas, nobody needs all that sugar in your body, there shouldn’t be any reason to have sugar in your body.
