Many students in schools have the ability to use their cell phone in class. But many students have admitted using their cell phones to cheat in class. 78% of teens from ages 12 to 17, that increases their time of using it in class. Although cell phones aren't allowed in some schools, I think they should be banned with the schools that do allow them. Cell phones should not be allowed in school, but their are important rules to it. Some schools allow cell phones, they should be banned because it can get distracting, people may use it to cheat, and some kids can be left out. One reason to ban cell phones is that teens can use cell phones to cheat on tests. Many teens can admit that they have cheated on tests and even more can admit that they used their cellphones to do so. About ⅓ of teens have had used their cellphones in school to cheat. Most of this should be a wakeup call for parents and teachers to take away the teens phones the day of a test. About ¼ of students also use electronics to take notes. This can also be any easy way to cheat on a test. In other words, when cellphones have more advanced technology, ⅔ of teens have admitted to cheating on tests. Many teens in school do allow cellphones in class, but the real problem is that it can get distracting, and it can also cause many problems if the student is not paying attention in class and getting distracted from their phone. Kids could also feel much more tempted to cheat on tests by letting their school allowed cellphones in class. Kids could also be sending test answers over text messages to other classmates. Schools should ban students from carrying cell phones during classes. Cell phones can be a major distraction and impair student learning.
