The Abortion Debate Abortion is a form of murder and demeans the value of human life. Other birth control is readily available; thus, abortion shouldn't be a form of birth control. The societal contributions of a potentially valuable human being are wiped out. Women who have abortions often suffer major psychological damage from the experience along with, in some cases, the father of the child. The advances of genetic testing may prompt more abortions (to avoid having the non-ideal child). There are many couples who spend years on waiting lists trying to adopt a child. The abortion decision is often made by minors or young adults, who don't have the maturity and life experiences to make good decisions. People have the right not to see their tax dollars go to something they find immoral. Abortion is against doctors' Hippocratic Oath. Government gets to control a woman's body. "Back alley" abortions would increase if it were made illegal, leading to increased risk of young women dying or becoming sterile. It's arguably better for society to have babies aborted than have them be brought up poor and neglected, where not only will the child suffer but society when that child develops a higher attraction to crime, welfare, etc. One brief mistake can take away a woman's childhood and trap her for life. Giving up a child for adoption can be just as emotionally damaging as having an abortion. Abortion is not murder because it is performed before a fetus has developed into a human person. Giving up that child for adoption might be the only reasonable option for a young girl too immature or poor to raise a kid. However, the women now has to live with a feeling of abandoning their child for the rest of her life. Why do you think so many adoptive parents seek out their kids when they're grown? There's no doubt that some women suffer psychological damage from having an abortion; however, the damage done from giving a child up for adoption is much worse. Abortion is not murder because it is performed before a fetus has developed into a human person. A fetus doesn't become a real human being until it is physically delivered from a mother's womb. If you define a fetus as a human, are you going to go back and say a sperm or egg is a human? Should we ban birth control altogether then since we'd be killing a "human"?
Abortion alone has always been a major issue. Whether it’s the woman having to decide to get an abortion, or anti-abortion groups who are against abortions, trying to make them illegal all over the United States. Deciding on legalizing abortion in the United States seems to be an even bigger issue. For years people haven’t been able to come to a conclusion, legalizing or illegalizing it for good. Abortion which means the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus. Legalizing abortion has always been a big controversy. Deciding whether or not it’s up to the mother if she decides to terminate her pregnancy. For the sake of society’s future, it is important to dwell on the question: Who gets to decided if abortion should be legal in the United States?
If an adoptees considering starting a family and needs to know his or her chance of
It’s important to mention that in abortion you are not just taking the life of a human being, the mother is also in danger of not being able to have more children or to even loose her life.
Parents have the tendency to overlook how lucky they are to have had the ability to create their own children. Many do not recognize what a true blessing it is to have kids, and that others are not fortunate enough to experience that miracle. Ten percent of couples endure infertility (Advantages) so they must consider other options. A very popular choice is adoption. It is not only a good alternative for the couple, but also for the child who needs a loving home.
Abortion is the termination of pregnancy which translates into the killing of the baby inside of the womb. Abortion is a form of murder; it is a form of murder because the doctors are killing a helpless child inside of the womb. “It seems to me clear as daylight that abortion would be a crime” (Gandhi). In the definition of abortion it uses the phrase “termination of pregnancy”. That phrase means “termination of life”. Abortion is considered murdering because the definition of murder is the unlawful killing of one human being by another. Abortion fits perfectly into that definition and category.
“Nearly half of pregnancies among American women are unintended. About four in ten of these are terminated by abortion” (guttmacher). Abortion should not be a first option and quick decision when an unwanted pregnancy happens. Abortion should barely be used unless there are dire circumstances involved. There are a lot of people that want more than anything to be able to adopt a baby and have the baby as their own. Adoption should be chosen in situations where the parent cannot take care of the child and when the child is unwanted. More people should look at adoption as a first choice instead of abortion because it is the best way to give your child a chance at life. Adoption is a great option for unwanted pregnancies and people that are not capable of giving a child a decent life.
Another argument is made with the previous point: instead of abortion, have somebody adopt the child. I do not think that this is a good idea because the world is already overpopulated, and I feel that we shouldn’t have to try and help every single person live just because they have the right to live. I know this sounds heartless, but we are slowly running out of natural resources, and having a world that is rapidly increasing in human population will only worsen matters. If a woman does not want to go through the process of being pregnant and trying to decide what to do with the child if she cannot keep it, then she should have the choice to get an abortion.
Almost all operations of abortions are carried out in the first 12 weeks (first trimester) of pregnancy, and during this time the development of fetus has not yet been started. So technically, logically and scientifically abortion cannot be referred as a murder. Second, adoption is not the ultimately viable option for abortion. It is because very less amount of women chose of give up their babies once they are born. Third, abortion is necessary to opt as an option in case of being resulted from rape or incident of incest. The victim is not supposed to carry the burden of the savageness and inhumanity done to her. Fourth, abortion is not used as a method or way of contraception. Abortion, in almost all cases, is opted because it is certainly unexpected and unwanted. Although there are very fewer chances of complication, no women can go through the process of abortion just for the sake of
Abortion is like killing a baby because when a baby is formed it is automatically a person, this means tha t it has rights under the us constation. “Life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” (Constution) A baby;s heart beats 2 days after consception this makes it a person. They say that it is ok to
Most women can naturally get pregnant and most men can naturally get women pregnant. But for the small minority that can not get pregnant, for whatever reason or other, have to explore other means of having children. Adoption is a wonderful choice.
There was an article that discussed about abortion and stated, “The most common medical issue associated with abortion is infection, a potentially serious and life-threatening problem. Abortion can also cause excessive bleeding and damage to the uterus…” (“Abortion” 2014). I can understand why people might feel this way, however, abortions are done safely. Simon LeVay, a Ph.D. neuroscientist, Janice Baldwin, a Ph.D. sociologist and John Baldwin, a sex education teacher, wrote an article on abortion and stated, “Abortion is overall a very safe procedure. Less than 1% of abortions performed before 21 weeks of pregnancy result in major complications such as heavy bleeding or infection. If abortion is made illegal, surely many women will continue to seek them in secrecy and likely sacrafice sanitary conditions and professional care; illegitimate abortions have caused thousands of women to die throughout history all over the world”. The government needs to understand that not allowing insurance companies to cover abortion doesn’t help women in need. Females shouldn’t have to be raped or be in dangerous environments in order for them to have their abortion paid
You would sickening form the thought. God has given you the precious gift to bear a child, why harm this precious gift. Children are not asked to be here; we create and bring them here. My mother always told me, you women enough to lay down and make a child be women enough to take care of the child. She believes that once a child is conceived there is no such things as abortion. You never know the potential a child may have on this Earth. Once, you become pregnant, that child destiny is already prepared, the creators has given that child purpose and meaning for their life. After, seeing the presidential election, who’s to say that a child that have been aborted, could have been in the race, and a far more compelling than the others. For, example Simone Biles is Olympic champion whose mother gave her up at the age six, due to drug related problems. Simone was later adopted by her biological grandfather. If Simone mother would have aborted her because she couldn’t care for her, then the world would have never seen such an inspiring African-American teen. Since, Simone mother was smart and loved her kids she gave them to her father, who she knew would do a great job of raising them. She has become one of many adopted kids to make a drastic difference in this world. So why take a child’s life away when you can simply give them to someone who can care for them in many ways you cannot. If you get an abortion you wouldn’t know what the child must offer, by giving them up for adoption, you can still have the choice of not knowing what the child must offer
filled voids within their family through adoption. Overall, in typical cases, adoption has served as an avenue to happiness for both adults and children. However, the adoption system in its entirety is broken, the dream of adoption is not fulfilled for several couples, due to the meticulous adoption process. For this reason, some children are never adopted out, they spend their lives in various foster homes, or remain in an orphanage until eighteen. Although adoption is among one of the most rewarding and positive choices adults can make, it also has negative aspects involving the adoption process and foster care services making adoption difficult.
“Adopting one child won 't change the world: but for that child, the world will change.” (Unknown)(Buzzle.com). Adoption can take place in multiple shapes, forms, and fashions. You can adopt from a local adoption agency, or adopt from an orphanage half way around the world. You can adopt a child whose parents are no longer living, or you could adopt from a young mother who is not ready to raise a child. You can adopt one child who has touched your heart from an orphanage in Uganda, or a set of triplets being moved around from house to house in foster care. There are still further motivations and reasons for adopting. What if you and your spouse are unable to become pregnant? The desire to be parents does not diminish with the lack of
Abortion is killing a human, why is this okay but murder isn’t? An abortion is a procedure to end a pregnancy. It uses medicine or surgery to remove the embryo or fetus and placenta from the uterus. Abortion also hurts the mother emotionally and physically, it hurts her body and hurts her emotionally. The babies being killed deserve the right to live; they are innocent and haven't caused any harm. Abortion should be banned, because it's taking the life of another human and causing harm to the mother.
