Anti Abortion Persuasive Speech

Abortions should be illegal; an abortion kills a human being that cannot fight back. How would you like if someone pulled you out of bed and duct taped your mouth shut, then just cut off your head? I don’t think that you would like it very well, but they wouldn’t give you a choice. Other countries are making abortions illegal, unless you were a victim of a rape (Abortions- Why this is wrong. As told by a pathologist, 1999). This is still bad but it’s better then just being able to use an abortion like its birth control. Although abortions are not illegal in the lawful term, they should be because it’s just like cold hearted murder. The baby didn’t have a choice and that’s not right.

I have a lot of thoughts about abortion and why it should be illegal everywhere. If there is a heartbeat, and you “abort” it, it should be considered murder. I am simply stating my opinion here and what I think is right from wrong but I will provide solid information and facts to stand my reasoning by why and how I think abortion should be illegal. According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, abortion is “the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely following by the death of the embryo or fetus: as a) spontaneous expulsion of a human fetus during the first 12 weeks of gestation b) induced expulsion of a human fetus c) expulsion of a fetus by a domestic animal often due to infection at any time before completion of pregnancy.” It is just flat out a monstrosity. I saw this website about the difference between abortion and murder, it made me think a lot more about this topic and how I truly feel about it. This website asked whether you knew the difference between a “zygote”,” embryo” or a “fetus” and then it continued to show 14 different pictures and asked you to think about which one of those you would consider babies. I went through and all 14 pictures, I would personally consider to be babies. Abortion is legal in every state in the United States. There are multiple ways to do abortions. According to Webster’s dictionary, abortion is the termination of pregnancy after, accompanied by resulting in, or closely followed by death of the embryo or fetus. I believe that abortion should be illegal. Our world today is full of unsolved, devising and controversial issues. Most of them relate to our morals, ethics, and religion, thus creating a very strong ‘Yes’ and ‘No’. If you were to come to any kind of conclusion on abortion, there would still be a downside to it, and that is primarily why the world cannot agree on this sensitive and emotional issue.

Abortion by definition means the removal of an embryo or fetus from the uterus in order to end a pregnancy (Dictionary reference). This is a controversial issue having no grounds of agreement among two aspects. The fight between pro-life and pro-choice supporters has been long and brutal. Abortion is a big topic in this generation today because of having uncontrolled hormones, and the miss connection of love and responsibility. Considering American values and ethics, death is morally wrong. With that being said, the killing of an unborn fetus is wrong as well. Abortion has become common in America, which is understandable. Abortion is killing a human, why is this okay but murder isn’t? An abortion is a procedure to end a pregnancy. It uses medicine or surgery to remove the embryo or fetus and placenta from the uterus. Abortion also hurts the mother emotionally and physically, it hurts her body and hurts her emotionally. The babies being killed deserve the right to live; they are innocent and haven't caused any harm. Abortion should be banned, because it's taking the life of another human and causing harm to the mother.

Abortion is the destruction of a human being. It shouldn’t be allowed anywhere babies want to also have the opportunity to live on earth and make something out of it. Abortion is a terrible thing but people tend to do crazy things when they don’t know what to do. The sad thing is that the U.S. keeps abortion legalized. I wish abortion didn’t exist at all. God made us all for a reason.

How would you feel if someone took away your ability to have a life? Imagine having no say over if you would like to have a life or not, well babies in the womb during pregnancy don’t get a say, and it would be a shame to have your life taken away due to someone’s selfishness. This is the definition of abortion of which I will be reviewing its ethical status. After Roe vs Wade, the supreme court simultaneously decided that women have the right of privacy under the 14th amendment; making it acceptable to abort a pregnancy within the first trimester (Vaughn 119). The main argument on abortion is really a debate on human life, and whether it has value from the moment of conception. Each and every human life is composed of intrinsic value, and has the right to live. Killing an innocent human being is wrong, and fetuses are innocent human beings;making it morally wrong and impermissible to abort a fetus (Vaughn 143).

Abortion is referred as the termination of a pregnancy or of a fetus that is incapable of survival (Dictionary.com). Abortion is morally wrong and illegal because the fetus is a person. It is the same thing as murder. The reasons people have abortions are they are not ready to handle the responsibility of another human being, the fetus may have a birth defect, mother’s heath is an issue, rape, or simply because they don’t want any more children (Abortioninfo). The majority of people that have abortions are teenagers. Abortion is flat out wrong and should be banned. Being that abortion is immoral no matter the circumstances, justifies the need for a law to make it illegal.

What if I told you that right now someone was choosing your fate whether you should live or die? And what if I told you that there was nothing you could say and nothing you could do to change their mind? Ladies and gentlemen there are thousands of children in that very position at this very moment right now someone is choosing life or death for child they've never even met before that someone is their mother and that choice is abortion. Abortion means ending a pregnancy so that it does not result in the birth of a child but it doesn’t matter how you say it, abortion is basically taking a life. Approximately more than 40 million abortions take place in the world every year since 1973. That is 40 million innocent beings being killed, taken away the chance to live a life full of their own of endless opportunities.
