Abortion

Imagine you are the one who has issues, whether it’s drug related or mental instability, and you wind up pregnant; you may realize that you are unable to care for the child that will form inside of you, so you want to do what you think is right: abortion. Abortion is not a bad thing like many people seem to think. I believe that it is a mature decision to make if you know that you cannot care for a child. The argument is made that abortion kills the embryo inside of a woman, which is a human, and goes against a human’s right to live. I do not agree with this, though, because the embryo does not have a brain that can process things yet. An embryo is too small to count as a human in my opinion, so if the mother does not believe that she is not responsible enough for a child then she should be allowed to have an abortion.
Another argument is made with the previous point: instead of abortion, have somebody adopt the child. I do not think that this is a good idea because the world is already overpopulated, and I feel that we shouldn’t have to try and help every single person live just because they have the right to live. I know this sounds heartless, but we are slowly running out of natural resources, and having a world that is rapidly increasing in human population will only worsen matters. If a woman does not want to go through the process of being pregnant and trying to decide what to do with the child if she cannot keep it, then she should have the choice to get an abortion.
Many humans believe that adoption is a good thing, and I also think it is wonderful except for the fact that the kids will always wonder why their parents did not want them. Some children may never know why they were not wanted by their real parents, so if ...

...like my neighbors should not be allowed to have children because of how messed up their lives are. Often, late hours into the night, I hear the father’s tires squeal up their driveway; every time I hear this I say a silent prayer for the children, hoping that they are all right. I see them on the way to school, and the older one has seen too many serious things in life to possibly have a happy childhood. I can see the deep sorrow and emptiness in her eyes. For children like these, I do not think that they should have been brought in this world to only be put in scary situations and unhappy times. I can only hope that humans will open their eyes enough to realize that abortion is often the humane decision to make. I also hope that adults will think smart and know when to get an abortion so they don’t have to make their child miserable.
