Tesla. the name has become synonymous with innovation and ingenuity. but this reputation did not come without hard work.
Tesla has achieved a competitive edge over other automotive companies through this hard work. In my opinion, these competitive edge are-
Batteries- It seems odd at first but investors did not caught on to the fact that it’s the efficient use of the batteries that makes tesla products great. Tesla batteries certainly are a lot cheaper than its competitors. The efficiency of the batteries comes from its Panasonic cells. There are continuous improvements made to its batteries. Word-of-mouth is its primary marketing tactic, and when something is as good as this, who would not want to talk about it? Tesla's fan are crazy Tesla fans. They have deep rooted emotional connection to the car. Consequently people want to talk about it, want to see it grow. In 2014, some Tesla fans formed together “Everdream pictures” and a made an ad, which cost about $1500. This was a retweeted by Elon and expressed his desire in working with them in the future. Recently, the company arranged something called “project loveday”,which is contest of fan-made ads. this was suggested by a fifth grader. The vehicles themselves are so safe that those broken the testing equipments. Tesla model S was awarded 5/5 by NHTSA, not just overall, but on every single subcategory for safety. Tesla made all its patents free, stating that it would be better if someone improves upon those. At this point, Tesla feels like a life partner, who not only loves and cares about me but also wants to see me grow. And honestly, who would not love that?
Big automotive giants have a lot to learn from Tesla. It doesn't only sell the products, it’s about the care that it gives to each. Tesla is the “Category king” of electric cars. they have created great values overtime selling quality products and giving the customers what they want.
