With information becoming so widespread and available everywhere cheating has become easier. In result, students ethics have lowered to get the grade they desire. In my research I have found cheating students do it in despair for the grade they need because of the stress kids these days are under is far greater than before. Cheating has become so easy to do and kids are getting better grades with less work; that they found cheating as their solution for getting through school.

Why do students let their ethical morals lower just for a grade? They are in desperate need to pass the class and get a high GPA. Many want to be top of their class but don't have the dedication or brains for it. As Dr. Gerald P. Koocher a dean at DePaul University who has conducted extensive research on ethics states, “They’re thinking I am desperate to get into college, I am desperate to succeed.” Students feel the need to be the best and if they can find a way to look the part they will. It’s all an assumption of everyone else doing good so they need to do just as good or better and becomes in a way a competition.

With desperation comes the need to be perfect and the pressure to be the best. As Rohan brings up, “combine that with the intense pressure to succeed and the look of an honor system…” With this toxic combination …show more content…

The stress of having to pass a class and succeed is far greater than in other generations. You are taught at a young that you HAVE to have a education to be successful in life and feel accomplished. Yes this is true but in all forms of education not just the ones that you have to have a 4.0, genius status, and go to school for a extra decade for that high paying job.
