Sugary foods and beverages are acceptable in moderation, but when Consumed in excess have detrimental effects in the consumer. Sugary foods and beverages are all too readily available in lunch and school vending machines. Making the case for the need to remove sugary foods and beverages from schools entirely. Schools should remove sugary foods from cafeteria lunches and vending machines to prevent diabetes to combat obesity and to encourage healthy eating habits in children. Sugary foods can lead to many negative health factors one of them being obesity.

Make it easy provide incentives for eating healthy, put it in writing and make it clear why healthy eating is important. During meals help with the children's awareness by providing correct meal portions and variety of foods. Removing sugary drinks and foods from things such as vending machines and meals could have a strong influence in eliciting those types of food and drinks from a child's diet simply by making those things less available to children.
Giving children proper breaks to stretch and move about and change scenery can help prevent needless snacking which is usually a sugary sweet treat. If children must snack switch out the sugary treats for fruits or vegetables, and sugary soft drinks for 100% fruit juices in moderation.
Not staying active is also determent to children's diets and can prove to be just as unhealthy.
Parents are the number one role models for their children it is important that parents remember there lifestyle choices are usually past on to their children and it is important they keep up a healthy lifestyle for there children's benefit. Remember to get everyone involved in a healthy lifestyle, if the whole family is engaged in a positive lifestyle choice it is less likely to fail
