I had decided to take this course for the following two reasons; one, I needed three credits of studio dance for my degree and two, this one was the only studio class that would fit in my schedule. After sixteen weeks of this class I can say that this has been a rewarding experience for me that has allowed me to develop and grow physically, tecniquly, mentally, and artistically. I had said before that “Some quotable quotes in the first two weeks of dance class were me to “my arms hurt”, “my legs hurt”, and “I feel like goo”.” I have found that this class has actually helped encourage me to work out on my own. This has had favorable results as I feel I have improved physically. While I don’t think that I will be pursuing dance as a career, I think I am ready to continue on to other forms of dance for the remainder of my education here at CSU. I expect the other classes to be more technically demanding, but I have a feeling this one will have been the most physically demanding. “I feel my entire body engaged…” I wrote this after we first started the forward/backward crescent movement exercise, before we added the pleats in first and second position. …show more content…

While I did have some previous experience with the technical side of dance due to my history of figure skating, I don’t think I was able to master my body in such a way that I did without thinking. My brain seems to go into overtime to keep up, then, once I seem to have mastered it, I look at my partner and lose my train of thought. “I need to stop looking at what my partner is doing and focus on myself”, this note kept popping up now and again each time I felt like I had especially flubbed up on a sequence. I’m thinking that, with more discipline and classes I will be able to improve. I think that, if I want to get better at this particular style of dance, that I should either take the second class or retake this
