During the Hellenistic period (331-31 B.C.E), Stoicism was one out of the three main philosophical ideology that was around the Greek and the Roman Empire. Stoicism teaches us that if we would control ourselves and not other people, then we can achieve happiness in our lives. The Stoics believed that we are not in charge of the events that are happening today, but we are in charge of our happiness. The Stoics thought that the world is apart of a being call the Logos. The Logo is the being that made everything and guides everything in the world. The Logos is in every human and human happiness is only achieved when they follow the Logos. Lastly, the Stoics believe that pain only occurs if the person goes against the Logos. Plato metaphysics were that there were Forms that make up the world. These Forms are what everything is based on. They are the blueprints that things in the changing world are base on. When talks about the Forms, he will talk about the Change Unchanged. The Change Unchanged is the being that started the universe. The Stoics believed in Logos( like the Change Unchanged) that control these forms. The Stoics learned this and created the Logos after Plato’s Change Unchanged.
