1. Who is "God" in your religion? Is there a single deity, many deities or no deities?
The Islamic god and single deity is Allah. Allah is the creator, sustainer, and restorer of the world. Muhammad was Allah’s prophet. The teachings of Muhammad are preached through the Qu’ran. Three themes of Allah in the Qu’ran are: Allah is the Creator, Judge, and Rewarder; he is unique and inherently one; he is omnipotent and all-merciful. The emphasis in the Qu’ran is on Allah’s unexplainable power or authority, how one must abandon and surrender oneself to Allah.

2.When and where was the religion founded?
The Islam was founded by the prophet Muhammad in the seventh century. Islam was created in a time and area that worshipped pagan models, which resulted in a struggle of prophet Muhammad to preach Islam.

3.Briefly describe the way the religion spread.
The Islamic religion was spread through conquest and trade. In 710 the Umayyad Dynasty began to expand and convert people in Europe. The Abbasid Dynasty also spread the Islamic religion through expansion. As well as the Seljuk Turks who converted to Islam and took over the provinces of the Abbasid Empire. The Arabs carried on extensive trade in the Islamic world as well as China, the Byzantine empire, India, and Southeast Asia, spreading the religion to different provinces.

Taking into account its ranking of 2, on its world religion popularity, it is widely spread. However the main places one could find a majority of the islamic faith would be in the middle east and southeast asia. Although Islam has 1.57 billion adherents, making up over 23% of the world population most of its followers are located in the areas around where it began, the middle east. (extra if asked for) The asia pacific has around 1 billion, while the middle east has 317 million, africa has 248 thousand, latin america only has 840,000 and North America has 3.5 million
