Islamic religion is the world's second largest religion with over 1 billion followers.Islam started in 1400 years ago in Mecca where it was revealed. Islam was revealed through a man called Muhammad. It is believed by Muslims(the people that follow the religion) that Muhammad was the last prophet send by Allah(God) , so that's why most Muslims say “ peace be upon him” every time they say his name.Muhammad was born in Mecca 570 CE.At first he worked as a shepherd but later he became a merchant.He was not happy with the people around because they worshiped many gods and forgotten what Abraham the first prophet said “to believe only in one God”. Muhammad loved to meditate for the one God that he believed at the top of the mountains , “ one day as he was meditating in the year 610 CE when he was about 40 years old he received a message from God through angel Gabriel (Jibril).”(BBC 2017).“ He received many other messages from God, so he started telling others about those messages.”(BBC 2017).So mainly he started saying to people to believe only to one God. …show more content…

Muhammad and his followers were kicked out of Mecca because they were stopping some of the other religions.So they had to migrate to another city before he was executed forever. And one city called Medina said that they are welcome there and that they had protection

Muhhamad took these people and then left and went to Medina to find more followers. He then returned to Mecca later and took over the city and converted everyone to Islam.
