Most of the food I eat comes from factory farms and/or is synthetic food. I do not like synthetic food or meat that comes from animals fed with all those steroids and chemicals that are, in fact, poison for our bodies. Even thought, organic food can be quite expensive. Factory farms, synthetic and organic foods are all, in some way, threats that impede me from having a sustainable life, so I decided to make some changes in my life.

Organic food is a term used to refer to food that is grown using only organic and sustainable resources, with no chemicals at all used on plants or to feed animals. Organic food is not only good for the human body, but also for the environment. Organic farming conserves biodiversity and promotes environmental balance. This kind of food is not processed using irradiation or synthetic additives. We are four in my house and our monthly income is not enough to afford organic food, since I cannot work because I spend the whole day at school. I am not wasting my money in useless things like games. I used to spend at least $100 buying games. I also stopped buying food at school. My sister is not buying Pandora’s jewelry anymore, and is also contributing to make our lives better. The whole family is also committed to not spend money on fast food at all. Now we have some money to use in not too expensive organic food and I spend more time in the store, looking for affordable healthy food. I reduced my sugar consumption two years ago, now I only have sugar when my body needs it, and I forced my family to do the same. I am having more fish. I hate fish, but I am doing my best. Last month we found an organic and cheap one, Vietnamese iridescent shark. Despite the name shark, it is a catfish and it is highly consumed in Asia. As most of the river fishes, eating this catfish is like eating dirt, but it is very healthy. I am also more active now. I avoid using elevators, instead I am using the stairs, and I try to walk as much as possible every day. It has been only for no more than a month but I am feeling better and I think they are feeling they same as
