Persuasive Speech Outline

I. Intro:

A. Attention Getter: Imagine you are at the supermarket buying some fruits and vegetables, vegetables are on sale and the organic vegetables are 2 dollars more than the vegetables original price, which do you choose?

B. Audience Relevance: Everyone should know why we need to choose organic food over conventional food. Buying organic food has improved my life and it can improve yours as well instead of risking your life eating food that have been exposed to numerous chemicals.

C. Thesis: Organic food is full of nutrients and when compared to conventional food is a much better choice

D. Preview of main points: First, I will describe what organic food is, then I will discuss how harmful conventional food is, then I will discuss the benefits of eating organic.

II. Transition to Main Point 1: I’m sure you all have heard of organic food but may not know exactly what it is or what makes it organic.

Main Point 1: Organic food differs immensely from conventional food.

A. Sub Point A: Conventional food like, fruits, vegetables and animals are grown in farms and can be genetically modified to improve size and quantity. The number of harmful substances obtained from conventional food is a huge problem. Organic food is obtained from animals or crops produced by farmers that avoid man-made fertilizers, additives, growth regulators and pesticides.

B. Sup Point B: Organic food is different from conventional food in several ways. Organic food uses natural resources like manure and compost in to enrich the soil where food is being grown.
