Parents use spanking to reduce undesirable behavior. Parents are you aware of what’s causing the bad behavior? A lot of parents think spanking change children’s behavior, and it does just not for the better. Two main reasons children often get spanked is because the parents are stressed, and children trying to seek attention. Spanking can lead to lifelong effects, but parents there is a better alternative.
Parents spank their children because they may be stressed out. The parents may be having a difficult time raising a child and maintaining a home. Some parents may have help, and still frustrated because they may feel like they’re in it alone. Some parents may not have help, and feel like the world is against them. Sometimes having an extra person to look after can be very stressful. Parents just remember you’re not in it alone. Keep in mind that you are now raising someone’s parent. The non-compliance of a child can spark a fuse in the parents, not that it is intentional, but children are curious. Some parents do not take the time out to teach their children the right and wrong, and the ins and outs of this world. That’s when spanking come in play, it’s just another way of saying “hey you can’t do that”. Children are even more curious to know why not. Parents have you thought about why you gave out a spanking? Are you more likely to give a spanking when you’re upset? I was one of five siblings who got the most spankings. Getting a spanking did not change my curiosity about life. I still had a lot of questions, and wanted to know how everything worked. Most children get spankings trying to seek attention. Children often try to get their parents attention by imitating them.     I personally do not advocate spanking. I could not imagine losing my temper to a point where I thought I needed to spank my child. While I do anticipate that having children will be a real test of patience, I do not expect that I will lose my patience so much that I will spank my children. I can remember these as really fond times with my dad. It helped me identify why I was so angry, and most of the time it was at my mom for not letting me have my way. When I could identify why I was angry, my dad and I could come up with a solution to solve the problem. I think that rather than spanking, this is a good way to discipline children.
