Moving towards the end of my final year in university i acknowledged how many things can change within three years, with each year or each month having its own challenges And experiences. These challenges and experiences leaves a scar on each individual involved in the future where it makes him ready for any competition that comes in his way. Being an international student i had so much challenges that i couldn't think i can overcome when i first started due to having different language,background,and thinking mainly, but surprisingly here i am annotating my final self-growth reflection report for my bachelors degree, explaining how this journey affected me positively toward my personality although it had its ups and downs but proudly i nearly reached the end. Through the years i was able to grow many skills and reflect on them using different models and tools such as: sustainable personal growth model used in years 2 and 3 (Appendix A), Career edge audit used in year 3 (Appendix B), and pro-forma’s used in year 2 and 3 (Appendix C). These tools and models helped me clarify how i grew these different capabilities and made me aware of what level i am. The capabilities that i mainly worked on are rapport,empathy,organizing, taking responsibility, presence , judgement, and digital. All of them are needed to move toward my career in life that force me to have a fresh entrepreneurial mind set. According to The Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (N.d) the entrepreneurial mindset as the set of attitudes, skills and behaviors that students need to succeed academically, personally and professionally. For all teens, the transition into adulthood is generally seen as a challenging and scary process. For teens diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as well as their caregivers, this transition is often more complicated. The period of transition for individuals with ASD into adulthood is intensely more challenging due to their “unique characteristics, the lack of services that address the special needs of such individuals in adulthood, and the expectations of society for a typical path to adulthood in the face of atypical problems” (Geller and Greenberg, 2009, pg. 93). Without the necessary resources to transition, teens with ASD find themselves unprepared for life at work, in college, or community living. In The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain, Huck experiences many situations which require him to use his moral judgment. During the entire adventure, Huck is essentially in charge of the fate of Jim. Huck’s taught beliefs lead him down the wrong path in the beginning, but eventually –until Tom arrives- his newly developed morals guide him. Society believes that slaves should be treated as property, but Huck’s new beliefs tell him that Jim is a person; not property. Though Huck does not realize that his actions are more moral than those of his environment, he chooses to follow his instincts rather than to follow the rules. As shown in The Adventures of Huck Finn, as well as events of my own daily life, I believe that while external environment has a small impact on our beliefs and identities, every individual fully develops their own morals without regard to what their environment taught them.
At the beginning of this paper I mentioned that there are eight stages in the psychosocial development theory starting with trust vs. mistrust. This stage begins at birth to one year of age. This is when I should have formed a trust with my primary caregiver or caregivers. My dad was absent most of this stage, so my mother was my primary caregiver. Since she never taught me good behavior, right from wrong, and was uncaring when I was born, I did not feel safe or secure around her. I was told through family members that she was unable to hold me without me screaming all the time, and that the doctor said I suffered from anxiety at infancy because I could feel the tension of my mother’s stress, anger, and anxiety towards me. A personal change I would like to make is my approach and the response I display to my teammates and the organization. I am a very independent person at work, I tend to be a controlling person in every aspect. However, I am trying to overcome this debilitating trait by learning new techniques and reflecting on the other person’s ideas, comments, efforts and suggestions without taking control. I do complete my task with little or no assistance, but it causes me to be detached, indifferent, and uninvolved from my teammates causing conflicting issues. I do sense a distance between myself and my teammates, but I continue to work hard and remain focus.
After doing the developmental plan of my personal goal, I felt that this was an eye opener for me. I always have a plan just like a bucket list, but went I started writing out each topic of my personal goals and thought everything out it gave me a clear vision of what my goal really meant to me. It's going to take a lot of hard work and dedication to finish my goal. My primary personal thinking style is the Achievement Style, which is one of the constructive styles. Constructive Styles pertain to self-enhancing behaviors in ways of thinking, which determine a person’s level of satisfaction. These styles also pertain to the capability of effectively working with people, building healthy relationships, and being proficient at the accomplishment of tasks.

There is a lot to what makes you fail or succeed but one of the biggest things that actually makes you fail or succeed and accomplish what you do is simply your mindset.There are mainly two types of mindsets between people.A growth and a fixed mindset. It has been said, “The hardest part about growing up, is letting go of what you were used to; and moving on with something you’re not” (insert citation). Everyone grows up in different places, but it is the ability to move on that allows each person to grow. I have spent my fair share of time in different places, especially with being a ‘military brat.’ Places change people, not because they are a specific geographical coordinate, but because the people one comes across in the different places affects her. My life became what it is because I fell in love with new people and made memories in Oregon, Texas, Nevada, and New York.
One branch of psychology is known as lifespan psychology, which is the study of the development of humans from birth until death. The study of a person’s lifespan is used to help other people overcome their developmental challenges through learning about how others deal with the various stages of development. According to Robert S. Feldman (2017) “lifespan development examines the way in which people develop physically, intellectually, and socially.” (p. 1) One of the best sources on how to get through a developmental period in life is to ask someone who has already gone through that phase. Therefore, Linda Peevely agreed to answer a few questions about the different stages she has gone through in her 77 years of life.
The most exceptional of educated people have their mind filled with interfering thoughts. These people live within the fixed mindset, believing they have this “gift” and find themselves limiting their abilities and achievements. In Carol Dweck’s book, Mindset:The New Psychology of success, she explains that living in the opposite, growth mindset, can let you achieve endless obstacles with the love of learning and challenge. Your mindset is not just a mindset of your intelligence, but is a tale tell sign of the way you live your life. She discloses that in order to reach your full potential you must continually work at it, nothing comes naturally. The growth mindset is a result of many reasons such as someone believing in you, accepting that success is trying your best, setbacks are motivation, and also learning to take charge and keeping it up. Dweck illustrates that healthy growth mindset can help you live a fulfilling life regardless of the failures that are thrown at you.
As discussed above, scholars’ attitudes towards self-determination correlate with their understanding about the link between self-determination and democracy. Intrinsically linked with the idea of democracy, self-determination was to correct the arbitrariness and injustices of dynastic rule. In theory, self-determination could be said to refer to the practice by which individuals freely express their political will by choosing their own government and, at this stage, a reference to nationalism appears by no means necessary. I am gratified to reflect on my Entrepreneurial Potential Self-Assessment. I have always enjoyed learning the concepts of running and managing a business. Personally, what I enjoy generally is implying these concepts in real life situations. Seeing the ‘real life’ effects are stimulating to me. I always saw myself running a stable/well- establish business; however, I never saw myself running my own business. For my part, I find that I do not have all the characteristics an entrepreneur should have. Therefore, the results are not surprising, but assuring of what my strengths and weaknesses are.
I frequently think about the effects of words on the healing body and mind. One of the things that I focus on in my therapeutic pursuits is "positive self talk," wherein I try to take those automatic negative statements my brain tosses out and change the dialogue to something more productive.
Personal Development is a lifelong process that involves the assessment of current skills and talents and the enhancement of oneself based on that assessment which then leads to the realization of goals and an improved quality of life. To be able to assess yourself, you need to be able to reflect on your past which helps you to understand the attitudes you have developed and the foundation that you will be building your life on. Also, you have to reflect on your present to see if there’s room for improvement and reflect on your future so that you can achieve your aspirations.
