There are several key behaviors you have to have when you go out to your school practicum sites and there are many reasons why you should have them.

The ability to be professional is very important because this is the way you will gain respect from your students and your colleagues. Having respect from your student’s means that they will take you seriously and you won’t have to spend most of your class time dealing with behavioral issues. I believe that when they respect you, your students will come in to class and want to learn from you. When I go in to observe I believe that I will learn more about how to be professional but in a manner that still allows me to create an enjoyable atmosphere

An author’s way of writing and portraying a character are one of the important things to note when reading a novel. Whether they use third or first person as their view point, have their main character have an underlying dark secret that is not revealed until the end of the novel. However an author wishes to write their novel, there is always a drawback to it. Kazuo Ishiguro’s way of writing his novel Never Let Me Go is in a first person perspective where the narrator, Kathy H., reassess her life of being a clone but the way Kathy remembers and discusses her memories of living in Hailsham is hindered by the fact she inputs her own feelings and thoughts into what happened in the past.
There are many attributes that contribute to being professional. The many that stick out in my mind are responsibility and accountability, leadership, honor and integrity, respect, and caring compassion and communication. All of these attributes pertain to the professional work environment in the own important way. When you are a professional you need to have responsibility and accountability. This means you have to demonstrate awareness of your own limitations, and identify developmental needs and approaches for improvements. You care for yourself appropriately and you present yourself in an appropriate manner (demeanor, dress, and hygiene). You recognize and report errors and poor behavior in peers. You have to take responsibility for appropriate share o...
The classroom is the first place professionalism is practiced. Common courtesies include being prepared and being on time. These are two behaviors that
Mary Wollstonecraft, a women’s rights advocate in the year 1792 summed it up perfectly when she said, “I do not wish them [women] to have power over men; but over themselves.” She is describing the fight within every woman in the Feminist Movement that began in the 1700’s and extended throughout the late 20th century. This powerful motion was a drive to address the debated issues of reproductive rights, domestic violence, maternity leave, equal pay, women’s suffrage, sexual harassment, and sexual violence. As time has passed, feminists have pushed extremely hard to gain equal rights and respect from their male counterparts. Unfortunately in today’s world, society still puts an emphasis on a women’s exterior beauty. They emphasize it in magazines, television commercials, and even the infamous beauty pageant. The industry of beauty pageants is growing rapidly, jeopardizing the continuous work of many women’s rights advocates, throwing away the continuing efforts for equal rights (Miss America, 2011).
Since I often found myself attending a new school, I learned how to adapt to my surroundings and talk to people with confidence and ease. Being a new student also meant that I had a lot of conversations with teachers and guidance counselors. School always felt like a safe place because of how faculty members invested in me and supported my aspirations. Since I never received that kind of affirmation at home, I developed a deep respect for my teachers and advisors. These experiences shaped characteristics in me that will exhibit professionalism as a student in academic and clinical settings. Being outgoing and approachable will be as equally important as having an eagerness to show support and respect to peers, faculty, and
James Baldwin’s works were influenced by the times in which he lived, as an African American writer he strove for equality and used his pen to work for civil rights through elements of his childhood among other aspects.
Most scientists agree that humans are contributing to global warming effects around the world. The existence of the polar ice caps and the rate at which they are melting are threatened by global warming. This threat is leading scientists to use geothermal energy in our everyday lives in hopes of preserving the polar ice caps. In order for people to thinking about helping to preserve them, they need to understand polar ice caps. Because polar ice caps are melting, there are many issues occurring in our world such as natural disasters. People are impacting the melting of the ice caps but, the ice caps are also impacting people as well. One alternative to using fossil fuels is geothermal energy. Geothermal energy can change the way we use resources from the earth forever, and potentially slow the rate of global warming.
Developing professional behavior as a student in a doctor of physical therapist degree program, is helping to lay the foundation of becoming a professional in physical therapy after graduating. Working with physical therapists, as a rehabilitation aide, I have first-hand experience of professionalism in the context of being a physical therapist. Knowing when it is okay to have fun and when a more serious manor is necessary is one of the characteristics of professionalism to me. When the therapists are working with patients they have to find a balance of having fun and building rapport with patients but staying professional in the process. Being a student, finding that balance is also very important. Being able to have fun with the professors and your classmates is important since you are going to be spending the majority of your time with them throughout the doctorate degree program. Similar to being a physical therapist, there are going to be times throughout the three years of the doctorate program that a more professional and serious manor is necessary. Professionalism is having respect for your classmates and professors. During undergraduate classes, I think some students take the curriculum a little less serious,
I put a considerable amount of time into my initial investigation of professionalism and came to the conclusion that it included several aspects, including dressing well, having a degree, striving for excellence, honesty, and admitting ones mistakes.
