This concept is taken from ORGANIZATION,PLANNING & STAFFING module no.10 and basics of staffing ,entitled as ‘introduction to staffing’.
Safe staffing means that, an appropriate number of staff,with a suitable mix of skill levels,is available at all the times to ensure that hazard-free working conditions are maintained. The term Staffing relates to the recruitment, selection, development, training and compensation of the managerial personnel .Manager of each level is engaged in performing the staffing function.It helps in placing right men at the right job.Staffing is an integral part of human resource management. Health care providers face many challenges in today’s health care environment to keep patients safety. Personally I felt that safe staffing can solve this problem.
As a nurse I have an integral role in the health care system. Safestaffing ratios are necessary to ensure the safety of patients and nurses.In my openion adequate nurse staffing is key to patient care and nurse retention, while inadequate staffing endangers patients and drives nurses from their profession. 3.2 Social context: In the society ,safe staffing ratio is an effective way to retain experienced employees to meet the goal successfully , If the hospital having safe staffing,it will attract the community for safe patient care.This will helps for the institutional growth and provides patient ,family and staff satisfaction. Safe staffing improves nurse performance and reducing patient mortality rates, reduces turnover rates, staffing costs, and liability.Staffing helps in placing right men at the right job.Manager of each level is engaged in performing the staffing function.Each manager is required to have human relation skills to perform staffing
