It is very important to conduct risk identifications within a sports facility, to keep people safe and to avoid any liability that may be put on you. There are three main sections in which you should focus on. First, the methods by which the stadium or arenas functions can be evaluated relative to: areas of heavy use, areas of specialized use, and areas of expectation. Second, it is imperative to assess and anticipate facility defects, which may include: roofing systems, steps, and floor surfaces. Last, is to review the services provided by the facility, including: garbage or trash, security and supervision, and alcohol.

They are what keeps a facility standing and can quicken or accelerate the deterioration of a facility. That is why it is important to have frequent roof inspections, to ensure the safety of spectators and even the personnel and employees who work there. The roof collapsing is the main concern, but there are other concerns within roofing systems such as leakage. Leakage does not only damage the roof, but can also damage the floors and equipment, and can also cause mold and mildew within the facility. The steps in a facility are often installed corresponding to some type of state, county, or city building code, but can still be a risk to many people. You have to be careful of the facilities who try to bypass the codes and do whatever they please regarding steps to save money for example. Next, the location, lighting, height, and type of step covering can all play a factor in injuries. Steps should be located in easily accessible places with suitable lighting. Floor surface is very important because a lot of facilities host various sorts of events that require changing the floors. Facilities must make sure that the proper floors are installed for the right events. Many spectators throw their trash on the ground in parking lots, entrances, hallways, etc., which could cause accidents and injuries to people from slipping on the trash. Alcohol in my opinion is a major concern when at a facility. There are too many cases of alcohol related incidents that are hazardous to spectators. People often get belligerent when they have had too much to drink which often leads to confrontations, or even brawls if more than two people in the parties are involved. Security and supervision is another concern, due to spectators believing most accidents could have been prevented if more security were in attendance. I do believe that an adequate number of security should be provided for every event hosted at your facility, and even additional security should be on standby just in case an emergency
