Rhetorical Analysis On Abortion

218 Words1 Page

Parker attempts to use pathos in order to appeal to her audience's emotion. For example, she appeals to her audiences’ weaknesses by saying that women who have undergone an abortion feel shame, yet how can someone determine that another feels shameful because they realize that abortion is wrong. You could easily argue that they were in a state of depression because they miss their baby; that does not make them shameful. Additionally, Parker uses logos in an attempt to seem more reliable but, her support is biased. She claims that abortion is part of the problem why there is poverty and even gives statistics proving her point, “Meanwhile, since 1973, some 60 million unborn children have been killed, about a third of which were black babies.”
