Research methodology should be understood as a whole, consisting of tools, methods of collecting, interpreting and analysing the data collected. These include: 1. Define the research problem and formulate the hypotheses 2. Research methods and reasons of chosen them for research purpose 3. Sources of data 4. Data collection methods 5. Data interpretation methods and writing the report To achieve the research objectives the process of research must be carried out by certain principles and to use appropriate methods. It is very important that the methods used to obtain the desired results, and this starts to clearly define the objectives and what we need to know, and also by choosing the methods and tools to help us and to ease the process. (Kumar, 2008) Every research study should describe the methods used for collecting, analysing and interpreting data. Research methodology is a systematic solving of the research problem and includes all the tools and methods used in the research process. 1.2.1 Define the research problem and formulate the hypotheses Defining the research problem (questions) is the first step in the research process. This means to define the problem to be researched and what we want to find out. It is also important to determine whether it starts from some existing theories or hypotheses. The research is conducted to prove whether or not these assumptions are true. 1.2.2 Research methods and reasons of chosen them for research purpose After establishing the research problem and what results are wanted, it will define how it will find the answers. Social Media Research Study Milions of people around the world with access to the Internet are members of one or more social networks. To find out the reasons behind the fascination for social media and the effects it has on people and their families it has be done an research study. For this research study I intend to use a descriptive research method. The survey method, as a descriptive method, is suitable to find out the perception of people about the advantages and risks of Social Media. The participants will answer questions administered through questionnaire. A Likert Scale is used to measure their answers, which is very easy to interpret. The questions will be very careful formulated in order to collect reliable and valid answers. After collecting will be done qualitative and also quantitative interpretation of results.
