Renewable Energy
I am an environmentalist who is in favor of using renewable sources of
energy rather than non - renewable sources. There are several types of
renewable resources of energy.
1. Solar energy.
2. Wind energy.
3. Hydroelectric energy.
4. Geothermal energy.
5. Biomass energy.
It is better to use renewable resources of energy rather than non -
renewable sources in the long term. Eventually the limited supplies of
non renewable sources of energy will finish. You would then need to
find another mean. Why wait for the non renewable source of energy to
finish instead we can use renewable sources of energies. All renewable
source power stations do not produce emissions that pollute the
environment. The damage done to the environment is quite small
compared to that of non renewable powered stations. Using renewable
energy reduces pollution, conserve land, and to save money.
Renewable energy conserves natural resources by reducing the need for
non - renewable energy. Some natural resources are renewable, meaning
they can be replaced, and some are not. Paper, corrugated board, and
other paper products come from renewable timber sources. Trees
harvested to make those products can be replaced by growing more
trees. Iron and aluminum come from nonrenewable ore deposits. Once a
deposit is mined, it cannot be replaced. The natural resources such as
trees form biomass energy. This saves limited oil reserves.
Solar energy is very efficient compared to coal, oil and gas powered
stations. The efficiency of a solar powered station varies between 40%
and 80% but for an oil powered station it may range 30% to 40%. A
solar powered station is therefore more ideal than a coal powered
station since much of the energy is lost.
However users currently pay 6 to 7 cents per kilowatt-hour for
conventionally generated electricity. Eventually as renewable sources
of energy becomes more popular the price will drop as no fuel cost is
needed.
Using oil, coal and gas means that explorers and miners are in more

Energy is the basic necessity of daily life. Nowadays, dependence on fossil fuels for energy needs becoming lower in numerous countries due to the potential of renewable energy to supply sustainable energy to the huge populations in many developing countries who are short of clean and continues energy. Generally, renewable energy can be defined as energy that is derived from natural resources which are constantly replenished and theoretically inexhaustible. Fossil fuels on the other hand can be described as energy that cannot be renewed and will eventually diminish. Thus, in many developing countries renewable energy is the alternative energy to replace non-renewable energy or commonly known as fossil fuels. In addition, according to Sorensen (2004), there is a greater demand for renewable energy sources nowadays due to the uncertainty of fuel price rise in living expenses. Commonly, there are many types of renewable energy available in our world such as wind power, biomass energy, solar energy, hydroelectric power and geothermal energy. However, the main three example of renewable energy are hydroelectric power, solar and biomass energy (Refer to Figure 1 in Appendix 1).
Pollution and global warming are at the forefront of every ecologist and environmentalist minds these days. In addition, many nations across the globe have taken necessary steps in order to reduce their own carbon footprint on this planet. One of those possible measures is using a cleaner source of energy supply, rather than relying on fossil fuels such as oil or natural gas. These forms to energy are called renewable because unlike fossil fuels, the have an endless supply. Some of those include solar energy, wind energy, hydro-electrical energy, and finally nuclear energy. These are just some cleaner ways of energy production that we can use in order to reduce our pollution. In this paper I will discuss the following options in greater detail. I will point out what exactly each one is, the process of production into useable energy, as well as the pros and cons to each energy source.

Most automobiles rely on this type of gasoline today. At gas stations, the general grades available are 87, 89, and 93. Each of the numbers represents the quality of the gasoline, 87 being the lowest, usually named Regular and 93 being the highest, usually named Supreme. Generally, the gas prices in the U.S. are cheaper than overseas. However, the gas price has been rising over past few years because of some issues with the Middle East. Even with this problem in the Middle East increasing the gas price regularly, the U.S. maintains its ranking as one of the cheapest places to get petrol, or gasoline. Although gasoline is cheap, it is demanded of every person to have an automobile and since automobiles rely on gasoline, the gasoline distributors have the advantage that the public is willing to pay high prices for gasoline, if it's the cheapest around.
In chapter thirteen of our book, Environment by Raven and Berg, it shows us just how important renewable energy sources are. Currently the United States of America thrives on the use of fossil fuels and nuclear power. The main problems with these types of fuel are that they are both limited and can be extremely harmful to our environment. They cause global warming, air pollution, acid rain, and oil spills (Environment), and not only that, but in the grand scheme of things, these sources really aren’t even that cheap of a fuel source. There are many alternatives to these all but outdated fuel sources.
Using fossil fuels such as coal and oil is inefficient, dangerous, and otherwise a process that is known to eventually fail as a long lasting energy source. Yet, there is hope for the future of energy, this new hope has many shapes and forms, but requires a chance to be fully implemented in our everyday life. Such energy sources like solar energy, wind energy, geothermal energy, and hydro power are the key to our future. These energy sources are proven to be long lasting, safe, more reliable, and the next innovation. In short, all Americans should switch to renewable energy, resulting in a safer and more efficient world.
In moderate America an energy source is what keeps the country running and fueled. Whether it’s from helping light sources to keep traffic regulated to gas which helps cook and heat on an everyday basis. With this being said an energy source comes in many different shapes and forms but all have the same intention and purpose both with its own distinct and unique way of how it’s gathered, used and stored. In my essay I will be sharing with you the key things non renewable and renewable energy sources share as well as the things that differentiates one another. Although this is a topic that’s always looked over I strongly believe this is the topic that determines how our future will turn out.
