Reflective Essay-Personal Narrative

As we draw near the end of this term, I think back to where I was eight weeks ago. At the time I had not realized, but I had become a victim of modern technologies. My grammar and syntax had suffered greatly from the use of texting and IM’ing. Simply put, I didn’t pay attention to spelling, sentence structure, or punctuation. I did not think it was important in the least bit and writing anything that was more than a sentence long just didn’t interest me.
While I have had English classes in the past, several years ago, I did what I had to in order to get by. I did not understand why I would need to use such strict proper grammar and punctuation. Nevertheless, I still have room for improvements and continue to learn from my mistakes. I need the most improvements in the area of sensory when writing Narrative Essays. In my first draft of my Narrative, I did well at telling my readers about the conflict I had with leaving my mom but it needed to be strengthened. Professor Lee instructed that I put my reader in the moment by answering questions like, What did the moment looked like? What people said? What it sounded like? With this being said, I attempted to do this in the final draft, however I fell short of providing enough sensory details. The subject of the Narrative is one that I have tended to keep to myself and have not talk about much. I stepped out of my comfort zone in an attempt to write a great Narrative. There were a few grammatical errors that I should have caught prior to submitting but that has taught me to be more careful with my editing and revision stages. Without reservation writing my Narrative Essay was by far my favorite writing assignment of the term. I struggled with the Persuasive Essay a little more than then Narrative, however I did better with the Persuasive Essay. For the Persuasive Essay, I struggled most with transitioning from one paragraph to the next. I also had a couple grammatical errors, however not as many as I have had in previous writings. I was ecstatic when I got my grade back from my first draft of my Persuasive Essay because of the feedback I had got on my thesis. My introduction paragraph which contained my thesis
