Family, defined by the Online Merriam Webster Dictionary is, “a group of related people including people who lived in the past.” I believed that the wording of this definition is important because of the word related. The Online Merriam Webster Dictionary defines related as “belonging to the same group because of shared characteristics, qualities, etc.” This goes to show that a family does not have to be lineage, heritage, or chromosomes. There are many different types of families, and though many people think of a nuclear family when they think of a family, there are so many more qualities to consider when deciding how to personally define family.

What is a Family? By law a Family is defined as a group of blood-relatives; all the relations who descend from a common ancestor, or who spring from a common root (Civil 9 Verse. 323). In Biology we learn that to make a child it takes one man and one women. In life, we learn that although a child is created by two specific people, the child is not always raised by their producers. Ron Tranmer wrote the poem, “The Blended Family Recipe”, which illustrates that a blended family is like beef stew (Tranmer, print). The definition of a “blended Family” is when a man with his children from previous relations joins a women with her children from a previous marriage to become a family (blessings). Ron Tranmer has written hundreds of poems over the
The modern family is a very complex organism. It has become evident that not everyone considers family to be the same thing. As illustrated, there are at least seven different variations of families, and only five of them are recognized as such. Not surprisingly, 99% of people consider a married couple with children as an ideal family (Penn). Some focus solely on their nuclear family, some readily claim their extended family, and some even claim others who are like them, but not necessarily biologically related. Many people gravitate towards the idea of a self-based and centered family, fueled by an independent streak. Others have learned that strangers can be more accepting of them than those who are supposed to be kin to them. However, this is not to say that even others still do not reach out to members of their extended family for support in daily living. In short, the modern family is an ever-changing device. Society is much better off having these sorts of various views of family. It is comforting to know that one will always have someone to turn to in times of need, but it is also nice to know that one can be independent of others and have the determination to stand

The teacher builds relationships with parents by getting them to understand the areas that their child struggles and continues to strive in. In human society, a family is a group of people affiliated either by recognized birth, marriage, relationship or co-residence. An immediate family may include spouses, parents, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters. Members of the extended family will include grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and siblings-in-law, these could also be included in the immediate family depending on an individual’s relationship with them.
Family, a group consisting of parents and children living together in a household. Although family is a concretely defined term, the idea of family varies from person to person. But, what makes a family? For those who are surrounded by loving blood relatives, for those who have never known the one to grant them life, for those who have left their blood behind for a more loving and nurturing environment, what can commonly define a family? Family is something defined by the individual. Family includes those who you have come to love, whether platonically or romantically, those you have suffered with, those you have come to respect, and most importantly those you have cared for and in turn have cared for you. Family is defined as,” A social institution in all societies that unites people in cooperative groups to care for one another, including any children.” I believe family can be described in many ways, just depending on where you come from. Some cultures say that family is everything to them, while others think that a family is just a way to join businesses and gain wealth. There are four stages of family life that you will experience. The first that you will go through is courtship, where a couple gets engaged and begins their journey of becoming a family. The second is the settling in part of marriage for the couple. The third is when the couple starts to have and raise their children. Lastly, the fourth stage is the family of later life, when everyone in the family grows up.
Family is defined by the text as “two or more persons living together and linked for financial or emotional support” (Barbour, Barbour & Scully, 2011). For my purposes family is defined as those with whom I maintain a close bond, whether or not they live with me. For example, I have a brother, who might be defined as :family” as we were raised in the same house, but I also have friends that I consider “family” based on emotional support I derive from their friendship.
The definition of family is “It finds its origin in marriage; it consists of husband, wife, and children born in their wedlock, though other relatives may find their place close to this nuclear group, an the group is united by moral, legal, economic, religious and social rights and obligations” (Ravelli and Webber 283). My family fits perfectly into the definition of what a family is. My family is a nuclear family; I have a mother, father and
