I am going to address this in a few paragraphs also considering different types of families, ethnicities, cultures and sexual orientation. I will also be briefly explaining the immigration impact in east london and how this links to family diversity. • What is family diversity in East London. In human society, a family is a group of people affiliated either by recognized birth, marriage, relationship or co-residence. An immediate family may include spouses, parents, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters. Members of the extended family will include grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and siblings-in-law, these could also be included in the immediate family depending on an individual’s relationship with them. East London is a popular and informally defined part of London, capital of the United Kingdom, lying east of the ancient city and north of the river Thames. East London holds the whole of six modern London Boroughs – Tower Hamlets, Newham, Waltham Forest, Barking and Dagenham, Redbridge, Havering and the greater part of a seventh Hackney. There are many sociological reasons for family diversity this could be because there are a high impact of migrants living in east London and many different ethnic groups of families. Every ethnic group come with different values and family teachings, different culture different rules and this could mean different households on the same street.
