Winter uniforms should be banned for various reasons that include being restricted from having fun at recess and lunch. The winter uniform is too expensive and very pointless, as the weather in Port Augusta does not suit the heavy material of the uniform and children complain about how uncomfortable it is to wear. Finally, wearing the P.E uniform at our school would be a much better option for everyone.
Firstly, the winter uniform is restrictive, heavy and children are not able to run around and enjoy their break times. There are many negatives about wearing the winter uniform which includes the skirts being too long and parents having to take time to hem up the skirt. Therefore, children are not getting the right amount of exercise they need daily. So during break times they are sitting and not exercising, like children should be doing at lunch and recess. The uniform suits the weather conditions of Port Augusta and is obviously more suited to the arid climates of our location. The P. E uniform is a much better option as children are more likely to run around during break time and have fun with their friends and peers. There has been scientific research that proves that children who wear P.E uniform at school live healthier happier lives. Statistics has stated that wearing a uniform does not help us learn, but this statement isn’t suggesting that Caritas bans uniforms all together. It is suggesting that the P.E uniform is a much better options as it is comfortable and more efficient towards the learning that is achieved at Caritas. Therefore, the P.E uniform is of a much better quality compared to the winter uniform. Thus, the P.E should be worn daily because of the results and evidence that has clearly stated that it is a much better option. This would then make the students at Caritas College live happier and heathier
