A project is a unique set of activities followed to produce certain deliverables with in quality and

cost constraints in a limited time frame. There are several concepts embellished in the framework

of planned project management. Time, resources, budget, skills, management tools and risk

management are all factors of major concern to the project manager. A project follows series of

processes achieving milestones one after another to reach the target objective. Duncan Haughey (

2015) explains that the key to successful planning is achieved not only by keeping the project

A project manager is a leader who is able to motivate the team to bring change favorable

to requirement of process completion.

Project briefing process:

Castel (2005) explains that one of the most critical steps of project management is when the

client communicates the requirements to the project manager to establish a scope or brief. The

author along with ideas of turner and Muller (2004) defines briefing as a process that requires

skills and understanding from both ends along with high level of collaboration. The project

manager should portray an open ended approach when communicating with the client as to build

a trustworthy relationship. According to Barrett et al (1999) it is during the initial stages when

most of crucial decisions that affect economy, efficiency, timing, functional content, appearance

and most important of all the real value of the project is identified. The initial phase is what gives

direction to the project and designs the significant stages to accomplish future goals. Smith

A clear mode of

conversations and discussions is vital to develop the project brief. The client should have faith in

the project management design to transform their vision into reality. And to establish a sound

grip on the project, the project managers have to create a brief that covers all aspects of

requirements including the project purpose, objective, expectation and vision and resources

associated with it. Ryan (2012) states the brief as of incredible importance as manages the clients

expectation and it evaluates if the client goals are met artistically and in timely manner.

Project business case:

The project business case according to the business encyclopedia can be defined as a decision

support and planning tool that presents an overview of the financials and other consequences of

an action. The aim of designing and compiling a business case is to outline the grounds for
