Professional interview (Field study #2)
Today i am going to talk about one of the most influential person in my life, about the person that inspires me to enter into this kinesiology major, his name is kenneth Canche’. He is the head coach for the San Ysidro high school baseball and the leader of the PE teachers in school. And there is no way to argue why is he on charge. As i said, coach Canche is a PE teacher with a masters degree in physical education, and a masters degree in chemistry. And he has been involved in the physical education programs for more than 18 years. He teaches his PE classes and on his PREP period, he goes back down to the baseball field to fix imperfections. So after school, they have practice from 4:25pm (the end of school) until 7:30pm if they don't have a game. Basically, coach canche is focus on his focus on baseball team 24/7. What truly inspired Kenneth canche to continue into the kinesiology major was his desire of being successful, his ideal of never being a loser, and mainly his love and courage in sports. He went from tennis, to basketball, and from basketball to his main sport baseball. after he retired from the baseball fields as a player he got the commitment of getting people to follow his ideal, “My main focus on my players is that they get to the next level, it could be a JC(junior college) or a four year university, but i always keep great universities in touch with my players so they know that the have an opportunity to player D1 or D2 baseball. I just want my players to become winners not just in baseball, but in life.” Coach canche stated. He is aware that there will be challenges further in the kinesiology branch for him, and that only reason is technology. During the interview, the Physical Therapist I conferred with was very thorough and straightforward in his responses to the questions that were given. I decided to interview another one of my mother’s fellow co-workers, Mr. Stephen Chan, considering his new experiences in the Physical Therapy field. I met with Mr. Stephen Chan at the Kaiser Permanente Outpatient Orthopedic Clinic that is located in Union City. The essential subject matters that we discussed consisted of his Major and Minor in college, the Residency Program that he takes part in, variations of attitudes, and advantages in the workforce.
I had not heard about inductive interview until my professor assign our qualitative research class an exercise related to that topic. He required our class to “inductively determine your interviewee’s conception of “closeness” without asking for a definition. Actually, I was confused about the true meaning of inductive interview. I have had some basic understandings of inductive approach and inductive analysis but I was not sure about the connection between these concepts and inductive interview. I did a quick search on google and no exact concept was found. So I came back to the assignment requirement and tried to find some clues of how to conduct an inductive interview. At first, I felt lucky that at least my professor gave me a suggestion
The occupations that I have chosen to analyze using the three elements for this assignment are paraprofessional, what I am currently, and a teacher, what I am going to college to become. Teachers and paraprofessionals work side by side, collaborate, plan, and share many of the same experiences. However, paraprofessionals are often not treated as equals and has created some ethical judgement regarding treatment of the paraprofessionals from other teachers and administrators in the business of education. Athletic Training plays a big role in the world today. Many people are on the go whether it is for sports or every day activities. Athletic Trainers can help with athletes of any age or industrial workers performing physical tasks or even an average citizen in recreational athletics. One diamond, four plates, nine players, a sweaty uniform, cleats, a bat, and a ball are the only things I’ve dreamt of since my first baseball practice when I was three years old. I remember the way it felt to smack the ball off of the tee and have everyone in the stands cheer and scream for me as I ran for first base as fast as I could and never wanting to leave the field even after it had gotten dark outside and all the field lights had been shut off. Baseball has been all I’ve ever wanted to do with my life from the very beginning. I can’t imagine doing anything other than eating, sleeping, and breathing the game of baseball. So when people ask me, “What are your plans after high school?” all I’ve ever known myself to say back was, “I’m not sure but it 'll have something to do with baseball.” With this being said, I have decided to be a baseball coach so I can pass down the knowledge I have for the game I love so much to people younger than me that love it just the same as I have and still do.
