Over the last 100 years there has been many great accomplishments but we also had disasters. On December 7th 1941 there was a bombing in Hawaii known as Pearl Harbor. In 1986 the space shuttle Challenger exploded. On September 11th 2001 the nation witnessed the most tragic terror attack on us soil. But despite these tragic events we overcame these horrible events and prospered. Tragedies such as these are inevitable and will happen but with the power of communication we can transform national tragedies into powerful messages of honor, history, and aspiration for our nation. On December 7th at 1:30p.m President Franklin Roosevelt was informed of the tragedy of Pearl Harbor, that 2,400 Americans were killed the next Roosevelt delivered his speech.
