Surprisingly enough, 97% of scientists agree that climate change is real and caused by detrimental human activities (Vaidyanathan, 2014). Climate change is a real problem that the world is facing right now politically and ethically. The reality of climate change boils down to the average temperature rising over the past 140 years, arctic sea-ice melting at inconceivable proportions and skeptics without proper certification authenticating or challenging claims made by scientists on either side of the argument. A large part of the argument between scientists is a disagreement of the causes of climate change, whether the climate is changing naturally as it has over the course of the Earth’s existence or have humans had the greatest impact on I feel that in the next few years I should join a divestment group to convince big money to invest in green energy instead of fossil fuels. Fossil fuels destroy the atmosphere and the ecosystems that our cohabitants live in. By convincing companies to divest from fossil fuels, I would also accomplish one of my goals to preserve the natural environment being destroyed so rapidly. There are many options as to what we can do to stop or even reverse climate change. However, I believe that everyone has to think consequentially about what would happen if these actions are not reversed. In order for that to 6 happen, facts need to have authenticity, scientists need to have relevant degrees, and opinions need to separate from science so the findings are not tainted. Then the opposition will have no choice but to accept the findings because that is exactly what was found. I have decided to start taking climate change more seriously than I have been and start to make a difference. Through actions that I take the world can be changed for the better and reflect how I want the world to be based on my ultimate
