“Being a teacher is easy” a stereotype that us teacher or soon to be teachers hear so much. Certain people do not understand that there is much more to being a teacher than just summers off. Becoming a teacher requires a lot of responsibility. Not just the responsibility, but dealing with the issues that come with being a part of the education foundation. Being a part of CI 204 class has opened my eye s tremendously. Each article I have read; I have learned something new that in the future will benefit me when I am a teacher. Usually when children’s parent are not involved in their child’s education, the children tend to also be less involved themselves. If they do not have the family support, most just give up because they realize that if their family do not find education important, then why should they. “Poor children, on average, come from families where parents have less education than parents in middle-class families.” As Rothstein had mention in his article, poor children normally come from families where their parents have less or no education than the higher class. It is important know if the family struggles with education, to inform them of all of the support they have and that they are not alone. One being, making lesson plans. Not just the fact that I need to make lesson plans but to make sure that they are creative and not robotic. Teachers need to put thought in their lesson plans so that they benefit the children in a fun way to learn. For example, in my target age group to teach are second or third graders. They best way for children in that age group to learn is if they are having fun or are at least interested in the subject. Now I know that not all the time fun is the best way to teach, but I feel that applies more to the older children. They will need lesson plans that benefit their knowledge better that involves less games as much. It just really varies on the way your lesson plan should be planned by your age
